The intensity of the bond forming was so powerful that it made me tear up. I reached up, wiping away the tears from my face. That's a new one for me. I haven't shed a tear since that night, not even once. Yet, all it took was the completion of our bond and the overwhelming rush of her emotions in that brief moment to move me to tears.
Another emotion quickly surfaced, one I hadn't felt in a very long time: fear. The fear of someone taking her away from me. The mere thought made Ares snarl, his fur standing on end.
