Mr. CEO - You're Dumped Chapter 49 - Don’t Lie Andrews’ P.O.V “Who would have thought the famous General Andrew would end up behind bars?” I turn, and one of my cellmates stands tall behind. I am seated on the floor, staring at the iron bars which hold us prisoners. “Come on General Andrew, why don’t you tell us what brought you here?” another prisoner asks. He is skinnier than the first. I stand to my feet, my fists folded. I am taller than both of them, although the first guy is bigger than I am. “What were you saying?” I ask, and they both take a step back. My height intimidates them. “Relax General. We were only trying to make small talk.” the slim one defends and I scuff. “Yeah, there’s no need to get physical. It’s only going to make things worse for you,” the big one teases. He is referring to my case, and it infuriates me. I swing my right arm in a perfect motion and it connects with his jaw. He spits out blood from his mouth. I made sure I limited the force of my punch to avoid knocking him out. “The hell is wrong with you!” The slim one yells. “I’m sorry, I thought we were showing our strengths,” I scuff. The warden walks to our cell, attracted by the noise. He looks at the fat man, who is still bleeding from his nose and his mouth. He observes everyone in the cell until finally his eyes fall on me. There’s a stain of blood on my hand, but he pretends not to see it. “What happened here?” the warden asks and his question surprised my inmates. The slim guy looks at me, pondering on what to say. “Anybody care to answer my question?” The warden asks again, and nobody answers. He scuffs and opens the door to our cell. His baton in his hands. “Mr. Mondragon, you have a guest,” he announces as he cuffs my hands. He leads me out of the cell room. He locks the door behind us and escorts me to the visiting room. Elizabeth and Luke are seated waiting for me. They are both smiling for reasons I will find out soon. “Baby boy!” Elizabeth yells and runs to hug me. My hands are still cuffed behind my back, and I do not enjoy the hug. Elizabeth notices I am uncomfortable and signals the cuffs to be removed from my hands. “I’m glad your power still works, even in the prison,” I tease and she giggles. “They know better than to disobey the only daughter of Mr. Roberto Mondragon,” she declares with a flourish and leads me to the table where she sits with Luke. “Well, if it isn’t General Andrew Mondragon,” he says and extends an arm to shake me. “Doctor Luke Mondragon, it’s a pleasure to see you here today,” I respond. Elizabeth chuckles. “Can they both of you stop being so formal?” “Why should we?” I ask, and she raises an eyebrow at me. “Why do I even bother? The both of you can address each other as you please,” she scuffs. “And why don’t you stop calling me baby boy?” I ask her and she laughs so hard the wardens look in our direction, suspicious of what could make her so excited. “Keep your voice down Lizzie,” Luke whispers. “I’m so sorry. It was just so funny,” she responds. “So, do you two plan on telling me what you’re doing here?” I ask them. They both stare at each other, a smile on their faces. I am uncomfortable about that. “Lizzie? Luke? What’s going on?” I ask them again. “Be honest with me. How much do you hate this place?” Elizabeth asks, her smile wider than before. “I mean, being honest; it’s not that bad,” I respond and Luke chuckles. Elizabeth is not pleased with my answer. She stands to her and punches me gently on the shoulder. “That was painful,” I mock, and Luke laughs. “Be careful with her, Amelia has been giving her some karate classes,” Luke teases and we both laugh at her softly. “Stop it,” she bickers like a princess who just lost her candy. “Okay, I’m sorry. We’re sorry,” I respond, and she smiles victoriously. “So, back to my question. How much do you hate it here?” she asks once more and I sigh. “It feels like I’m in hell. And trust me, for someone who has been on the battlefield, this doesn’t compare to it,” I inform them. “You have five minutes more, Mr. Mondragon,” the warden who brought me out declares, and I sigh. His audacity annoys Elizabeth to speak. She stands to her feet, ready to yell at him for all it’s worth, but Luke holds her down by the arm. “He’s not worth it,” Luke whispers. She takes a breath, stamps her feet on the ground and takes her sit. “The audacity,” she scuffs and turns her attention to me. “We have good news,” she states. I gesture for her to continue. “We have evidence to vindicate you of the charges against you,” she adds. I stare at her in doubt, but the smile on Luke’s face tells me she isn’t joking. “Where did you go to on the day mum and dad were killed?” Luke asks. I want to lie, but a part of me tells me they already know everything. I summon up the courage and tell them the truth. “I was with Carlin.” “Boyfriend issues, right?” Elizabeth asks and I nod my head in approval. “How do you guys know about this?” “We got Carlin to confess the truth,” Luke informs me. “That’s impossible,” I utter. “Yeah, we know. But we did anyway. It’s a long story which we don’t have the time to tell you about. I just have one favor to ask of you Andrew,” Elizabeth mumbles under her breath as she notices my warden walk slowly towards. “What is it?” I ask. “In two days' times, when your next hearing will be. Attorney Salvador is going to ask you where you went on the day our parents were murdered. Unlike the last time, I don’t want you to be silent. I want you to tell them the truth,” she whispers. “Mr. Mondragon! It’s time to go,” the warden declares as he approaches. I stand to my feet, not prepared for a fight with the warden and await him to cuff my hands once more, but he doesn’t. He simply bows his head before Elizabeth and gestures for me to head back the door we came from. “Don’t lie!” Elizabeth yells out to me, but her voice fades slowly as I walk back to my cell.
