Mr. CEO - You’re Dumped Chapter 47 - The New Evidence. Elizabeth’s P.O.V “They’ll be back soon, Elizabeth. There’s no need to worry,” Dorian whispers, doing his best to keep me calm. Ever since Officer Brooke came to inform about them finding out who was in the video, I had not heard from Dorian and neither had Luke. It felt like he was avoiding me and I hated the very thought. “Where have you been Dorian?” He stares at me for a moment, unsure of how to answer the question. “I’ve had a lot of work to do. I went back to London, and I honestly thought I told you about it,” he responds with a smile on his face. His answer does not satisfy my curiosity, but I do not have the energy to deal with our relationship at the moment. “Elizabeth. I just spoke to Attorney Michael,” Luke declares as he walks into my bedroom. Carlin and Uncle Constantine aren’t home yet, and that’s a good thing. Richard was on a date with Carlin and Amelia went to spy on uncle. “What did he say?” I ask, my heart beating faster than it should. “Well, he pleaded with the judge, Barrister Armando, and you may return to the court during Andrews' next hearing,” Luke informs me and I wait for the twist. Luke takes a deep. “But you won’t be called up as a witness anymore.” “What! That’s pathetic. I know I made a mistake, but seriously, denying me the chance to speak on my brother's defense? Why would he do that?” I yell as I stand to my feet, but the sound of a car pulling up at the estate driveway takes my mind off what Luke had just told me. We wait in silence to find out who it is. After a few moments of waiting, Richard and Amelia step down from the car with Lillian, who had insisted that she would follow them. They make their way into the house and soon; they are inside my bedroom looking like they had just won a lottery. “We heard you scream. Is anything wrong?” Amelia asks and I pull her in for a tight hug. “Its fine now that you’re here,” I respond and she chuckles. I can feel her heavy breathing on my neck and I am sure she must have tensed after what spying on Uncle Constantine. “How did it go?” Dorian asks them and Richard stares at him, annoyed for some reason. Lillian doesn’t feel comfortable. She tries to drag Richard out with her, but he refuses. “Where are you going?” I ask her, but she says nothing. She walks out of my bedroom and we wait a few minutes, hoping she would come back but she didn’t and we continued with our discussion. “I think it’s better that she isn’t here anyway,” Amelia scuffs, and we all giggle. “How did it go, the both of you?” I ask them and they take a deep breath simultaneously. “You should go first,” Richard says to Amelia, and she nods her head in approval. “Well, I can’t be too sure of what happened back there, but I think Constantine and the judge might be working together,” she declares and Luke scuffs. Amelia doesn’t seem so interested in his reaction and seeing the both of them this way still annoys me. “I thought the both of you had settled this issue?” I ask, but none of them respond to my question. Seeing that my brother and best friend completely snubbed me, Dorian quickly changes the subject. “What do we do about the judge?” I take a deep breath. “If anything, I’ve learnt about my uncle from my parents while they were alive. He must have possibly bribed the judge to rule the case in his favor.” “And how do we avoid that? It’s not like we can offer the judge something better that what your uncle must have already offered,” Dorian utters. “Maybe next time be there for the one who you love and you’ll know what to do,” Richard responds, and his words are totally unrelated to the issue at hand. “Will they both of you just stop it already?” I yell, and they both lower their heads. “If my uncle wants to play dirty, then we’ll give him dirty,” I declare with a mischievous smirk, and Amelia already knows what I have in mind. “What do you plan to do?” Dorian asks. “We are going to blackmail the judge,” I respond, but Luke doesn’t seem to like that idea. “Why don’t we hear what Richard got from his date with Carlin before we make drastic decisions,” Luke suggests and I sigh. “Fine. What did you find out, Richard, that Carlin has a crush on both you and General Scout?” I tease, and he chuckles. “Actually, I found out something way better than that,” Richard responds, and I am intrigued by the way he said it. “What is it?” Amelia asks and I find it hard to believe that he didn’t tell her on their way back home. Come to think of it, I don’t even know how they both of them came back together in the same car. “Carlin confessed to me she was with Andrew on the day your parents were murdered,” Richard declares, and I roll my eyes at him. “What was that for?” he asks. “We already know that she was with Luke. She confessed that to me as well. We need proof that she was there with him,” I sigh and a smile spreads across Richard’s face. “What are you smiling about? You literally failed the one mission I left you to handle.” I scuff, but he is still smiling. “Well, my apologies for the way I started. I guess I should have told you I got a recording of her admitting to have spent the entire day with Andrew,” Richard announces as he pulls his phone out of his pocket and plays the recording of his date with Carlin. “Richard, you did it. This is just what we need to have the upper hand,” Luke declares as he high fives Richard. I throw my arms around him in a warm embrace, which Dorian doesn’t seem to approve of, and I let go just in time to avoid him punching Richard in the face. “Thank you for this, Mr. Lim,” I smile at him and he returns the same gesture. All we have to do now is get this to Attorney Salvador and allow him to work his magic.
