(Faith's P.O.V.)
If it weren't for my colleague's constant congratulations, I would have forgotten already that this is supposed to be a fun day. I was still wearing my gown when I left the building. Frank offered to bring me home since it's already late, but I refused.
I'm sure that he's just going to ask me again about my sudden relocation. I don't really have the energy to answer any of his questions anymore.
I need to get to my children.
I hailed the yellow taxi that drove past me. It stopped and turned to come back. I opened the door and got inside. I was busy dialing Karen to ask about the triplets. She hasn't called me if they're home yet.
"Where can I take you?" the driver asked. I didn't bother looking at him and just said the address of my house.
"Take me to Narra Subdivision, please."
I tried to dial Karen's number again. It's ringing, but she's not answering. I'm starting to feel nervous. She was never the type to make me wait. She always answers fast whenever I call. It's on of the rules that she has to follow as the triplets' babysitter.
"Why is she not answering?..."
"Come again?"
I lifted my head to look at the driver. He must have thought that I was talking to him. I looked at the back of his head.
He's wearing a blue cap.
"It was the call."
He nodded his head.
I tried to call Karen again. She's still not answering. What do I do with her? Should I call the guards now? What if Drake's subordinates found them?
No, Faith...
You have to stop thinking negative.
I looked outside the window. My forehead creased when I realized that we're taking a different path. This is not the way to my house.
"Hello? I think you got the place wrong."
The driver didn't answer. He continued driving and pretended to not hear me.
I grabbed the driver's seat to reach him. "Hey!" I raised my voice and tried to pull his hair when he hit the gas. He speed the car and I fell back to back seat.
Who the hell is he?
Is he one of Drake's subordinates?
"Stop the car!" I yelled.
I panicked when he turned to a familiar road. I know where he's trying to take me, and I'm not going to let that happen.
"Argh!" I groaned as I wrapped my hands around his neck. I headlock him on place. He choked. He sways the wheels, but I didn't let go. He's going to regret kidnapping me. I tightened my grip on his neck.
"F-f**k!"
My eyes widened when he hit the break. I wasn't able to hold myself and I flew to the other side of the car. My head banged on the windshield.
"Give me your bag!"
The mugger snatched my phone and bag. My hands chased it, but there was already pain in my head. When I touched it, I saw blood.
Motherfucker...
I glared at him. He's taking off his seatbelt now and is preparing to escape with my bag and phone.
"Come back here, you mugger!"
I ignored the pain in my head and chased after him.
I don't know how, but I reached him in time and kicked his back. He landed on the ground; knees first. I scoffed and retrieved my stuffs from him.
"Whimp..." I taunted.
He looks like a loser on the ground.
I scanned the place.
We're inside a tunnel. There are no other cars passing by. I'm going to have to go back to the taxi that I assumed he stole.
I was about to walked out when he spoke. "Where do you think you're going, lady?" I froze when I saw the weapon he's pointing at me. He has a gun. "Hands up." I squeaked when he pointed the gun at my head.
The mugger took my bag and phone.
"You're strong for your size, woman. You almost got me."
I clenched my jaw when he started touching my skin.
"Now, that I see you clearly. You're actually pretty up close."
I winced when he unzipped the back of my gown.
"P-Please..."
He chuckled diabolically.
"No!" I screamed when he started to pulled my gown aggressively. I turned to slap his face, but he caught my nape and pointed the gun at my temple.
"Try and you'll die."
My body turned cold.
T-That voice...
I don't have to turn around just to check who's the owner of that voice.
"Let go of her."
The mugger turned and I was forced to turn with him. That's when I see him again.
Morgan...
"And who do you think you are to give me orders, huh?"
Morgan turned his head slightly. When he looked in front, his eyes were already glowing yellow.
The eyes of a Beta who had killed an innocent before.
The man holding me froze. He witnessed how Morgan's eyes changed in front of him.
"Y-You're a..."
His grip on my neck loosen. I immediately scooted away from him while holding my neck that he grope. He's stepping back because Morgan is slowly walking towards him.
"You're a werewolf."
Morgan smirked.
"Hell yeah, I am."
*BANG!*
I screamed and covered my head.
He tried to shoot Morgan, but he was fast enough to dodge it and appeared right in front of the mugger to break his neck.
He glanced at me.
No...
I stood up and prepared to run.
"Don't hurt yourself and just come with me."
He said the same thing that he always say every time Alpha Drake orders him to catch me.
Not happening, Morgan.
I heard him sighed.
"You never listen."
I ignored him and ran fast. Just when I thought I was already far from him, Morgan appeared in front of me. I quickly turned around, but his face still greeted me.
"Sweet dreams, Faith," and he knocked me unconscious.
*****
I opened my eyes weakly.
The light blinded me, and so I covered my face with my hand just to see a familiar symbol on the ceiling.
No...
I sat and scanned the place. I'm starting to panic because of the familiar objects I'm seeing. The furniture. The color of the walls. The floor.
And the print on the door.
A very familiar room.
"No..." I can't be back here.
My body winced when the door opened and two people entered.
Morgan walked inside and stayed on the side. The next guy that followed him is the person I didn't want to see ever again.
He flashed a smirk on his face.
"Welcome back, Faith."
