Chapter 11

Mia's POV

This is the best sleep I've had so far. I don't know why. But the sleep was amazing. I rolled on my bed and bumped into a chest. A hard rock chest might I add. But chest? in my room?

And then, I heard someone clear their throat. I opened an eye to see who that was. A sleepy Jaxon looking at me. God! How I love waking up to this every single day.

"Thanks," he said. And I smiled in return.

"Now can you please go back to your room?" He asked again.

"Why is our mate such an ass?" Lacy muttered in the back of my mind. I couldn't help but nod at it.

I made my way to the room and got ready. It's time to go to Ashley. God knows for how many days she'll be this ignorant. I went to her home and literally barged in.

"Mia! What a pleasant surprise!!" Ashely's mom Mrs. Julie Baker hugged me.

"It's been so long Mrs.Baker. And I missed your red velvet cake. I'm craving for some" I said while hugging her which made her chuckle a little.

"Well, Ashley is in her room and I'll be right back with the cure for your cravings" she winked

I ran into Ashley's room and jumped on her.

"Aaah!" She screamed before she realised it was me.

"This is for ignoring your amazing best friend," I said while hitting her.

"And this is for hiding that our Alpha is your mate," she yelled, hitting me with the pillow.

"Well,you got a point. But I'm sorry ok? I'm really sorry. Just forgive me already" I said with puppy eyes.

"Just don't do that" she muttered

"Do what?" I said making my eyes slightly bigger

"Argh! Fine. But.... Details!!!!" She said with excitement, making me laugh.

"Well, if you ask me the details, I'm totally fine. He is taking care of me pretty well. I just love him a lot" I said, hoping she would believe me.

"Ok! You're a terrible liar." She muttered

"So, Jaxon loves Veronica. And he wants a pup with her. Nick is now Alpha of Dark Night pack. I'll be leaving to him so soon" I shrugged

"But you'll die without your mate" Ash hissed

"He'll reject me anyways" I said and she nodded.

By the time I told her everything, her mom came with red velvet cake. I took a piece and licked the frosting. The moment I took a bite of it, the taste got me moaning.

"This is so damn delicious" I said, still moaning at the taste.

"I'll pack some for you to take home" she said

“You are the best’” I said, throwing my two thumbs up in the air.

After a much needed talk with Ashley, we even FaceTimed with Tal. He was talking about a girl he has a crush on and I was excited for him. He didn't give us full details yet, but I'm happy for him. After this, I made my way to the pack house eating a red velvet cupcake. Don't blame me, they taste yum.

By the time I reached the pack house, everyone was so busy. I didn't know why. And while I was passing I got sympathetic stares from everybody. What's wrong? Did I miss something??

I was about to go upstairs and saw Jaxon coming down with Tyler beside him.

"It should be done tomorrow. And yeah, ask our pack members not to attend the school tomorrow. The cerem-" he stopped mid sentence when he saw me.

I looked at Tyler with confusion because I didn't know what they were talking about. I saw the same sympathetic look in Tyler's eyes. For God sake! What the heck is going on?

They both walked away without an explanation and I went to my room. I spent my day with Netflix and Cupcakes. When did life get so cool? I suddenly heard the door creak open and in walked Tyler.

"Hey!" I said with a cheerful smile.

"I'm sorry" he whispered.

"But why?"

"I - I just don't know. I'm sorry" he said and left the room again.

Looks like I did really miss something. But I don't wanna think about it. Now all I want to do is watch Teen Wolf with some food.

It was already morning and I can't wait to go to school. Tal said he would tell us the girl's name and I am so excited. I did my business and was looking at myself in the mirror.

The door opened and the familiar smell of ocean and pine engulfed me. I stood there frozen when Jaxon's image came into view in the mirror. He was looking at me while I was looking at him through the mirror.

"You're not going to school today," he said.

"Why?"

"Because no one is going. Even Ashley"

"But why?"

"Just dress well and come down, you'll know" and with that, he left.

I dressed up real quick in a long frock that I think looked pretty on me. Applied minimal make-up and made my way down. There was no one. I walked outside to the Pack house garden which was packed with members. I didn't know the occasion,and one said anything.

I soon spotted Ashley. She came to me with the brightest smile.

"Oh God! Mia.. I can't believe this is happening" she squealed in excitement.

"But why?" I asked her in return.

"Are you kidding me? It's the Luna Ceremony" she squealed again.

Oh! So today is the day I'm getting rejected. Thank God! I can just part my ways with this pack. I can't wait to get back to Nick. I just got dressed well to get rejected!

So was that why Tyler felt sorry? Now I understand everything. Maybe

"Ash! It's not mine" I said and she laughed.

"Ash!!! It's really not mine!" I said and this time she opened her mouth to say something but was cut off when Jaxon started talking on the stage.

"Ladies and Gentlemen. Thanks for coming today. " He said and looked at me. The whole crowd looked at me too. Everyone knows I'm his mate and he still chose Veronica. But they are not allowed to question his decision.He is the Alpha.

I don't know why. But my heart still had hope. Somewhere daring to come out. Deep inside, I hope he will love me back.

I spotted Alpha Titus and he was looking at me with pleading eyes. He wants me to stop all this. But how? I'm a mere she wolf and he's an Alpha. I can't go against him even if he's my mate.

I looked at Jaxon again and this time his eyes held love. He was looking at me with love. I looked at him with every ounce of emotion I had for him. Because now that I am sure his eyes hold love, I will still have hope.

"So, I would like to accept" he paused while Veronica stepped on stage with a huge smile. She grinned looking at me but I didn't give a s**t.

I still looked at Jaxon who was staring at me. He cleared his throat before talking again.

"I would like to accept Veronica - " he paused again and this time he held her hand. But his face showed no emotion.

I wanted to scream but nothing could come out. I stared at Jaxon with every bit of hope I had. He looked at me with his big frosty eyes. He didn't want to do this and I can see it. I mouthed the words 'I love you'

"as the pack's female top warrior" he finished his speech. I released the breath that I didn't know I was holding. Whole crowd erupted into screams. And Veronica just stood there shocked not knowing what happened.

Alpha Titus hugged me whispering that I did it. But it was Jaxon who did that. It was him who wanted to be with me.Moon Goddess! Thank You.
