Chapter thirteen: fake marriage not a real couple 

Third Person POV 

Carol gasp hearing what Adriano had said, ‘background? Did he do a background check on my boyfriend?’ Carol’s head was filling with questions about what she just heard Adriano say, “ it is our duty to check on people we don’t know when they come to this house. The thing is after the information we received it is important that we discuss this matter here as it is a family matter now.” He pauses making sure everyone is following, the only people that seem to be having a hard time hearing this is Carol, her mother Mariana and Catherine. Adriana learned to not be faced by small things since she was the queen of the mafia, just like Caroline who used to help Adriana in her business.  

Even though Carol wants to speak up she knows better, at family meeting they all have to hear what is to be talk about. After all has been said then theirs the opportunity to speak but they have to be granted the permission before speaking. “We have here pictures and more of this information, Leonel has a family, a step daughter and a wife. We collected all since the day they met and I have to say that what we have here is grave. We don’t have full statements yet but what we have is enough,” Adriano opens a folder in front of him. He takes pictures out and starts spreading them so they can be looked around, passed by both sides of the table. “As you can see here in the pictures and all I have just passed around, Leonel slept with his sister in law for money. They moved to Canada and later the next year he dated another girl taking money from her as well before he disappeared. Now in Spain his girlfriend was seen following Carol around before she was seen talking to Leonel closely while eyeing Carol.” 

Carol couldn’t believe what she was hearing she took a picture looking at it, it was the day they met, she remembers the cloth she was wearing that day. In the picture she was sitting in the table and a blond girl was pointing at her, on her side Leonel. “These pictures and the statements we have demonstrate just how serious this is, the pictures where taken by a private investigator. He has been looking for Leonel since back in Canada, when his siter in law hire him. We have reasons to believe that he may have already give this information to her, which means she knows of who Carol is.” Carol became red she is angry, sad and most of all embarrass, the family name may be now known out there in the united states.  

Adriano and Michael seem calm but in the inside they are really angry, they want to kill Leonel, no one messes with their family. 

Boni notice this, Michael without knowing took hold of Boni’s thigh in a very tight grip digging his fingers as he lets his anger take control inside. Boni not wanting to whimper or hiss in pain he bites his lip, then an idea pops in his head. He lets his face nestle in Michael’s neck, this brings Michael back from his thoughts. He was to push Boni away from him but feeling his warmth makes Michael needing more, he wraps his arms around his waist bringing him closer as he buries his face near Boni’s neck. 

Everyone is so worry about all the information that was shared by Adriano that no one pays attention to Michael and Boni. Adriano opens his second folder and starts to explain his next problem “it seems that the calaveras (skulls) have followed Boni home.” At this Michael looks up at Adriano he never mentioned this in the office. Michael arms didn’t move from around Boni as well as Boni who didn’t come out of Michael’s neck. “This I was just told today, apparently they have followed him from Mexico, this is a gang and the leader claims Boni belongs to him.” This just made Michael’s grip tighten around Boni, even though even though he knows this is a fake marriage not a real couple in love. He still doesn’t want it to end like this with Boni been taking by a gang.  

On the other hand Boni knows well what this means, Saul has found him, and it those scare him, even though they never dated Saul thinks Boni belongs to him. Even though Saul is only the leader of gang in Mexico his gang is the biggest and strongest there is. Everyone fears his gang and this only makes Boni feel nervous and anxious. “Nothing we can’t fix, so we will deal with that as soon as this meeting is over, not the last thing to cover.” Adriano opens the third folder and the next thing that left his lips are the worst Michael could have heard.  

“I know we have two rooms here one for Michael and one Boni but due to this new information of the calaveras gang Don Jose is coming. Michael and Boni will share a room while he is here, we will try and work something out with this calaveras gang.” Adriano kept on going and once he is done the questions start, “questions about Leonel?” Carol’s hand goes up as well as Luke’s and Alberto’s, Adriano sighs he knows where this is going already. “Yes Luke?” he gave look the choice to speak first since this is his daughter they are talking about.  

“Can we kill the bastard?” “dad” Carols speaks and then turn to Adriano “sorry” she stays quiet waiting for Adriano to answer. “We could yes but is we do we could get in more trouble since we don’t know everything told to his sister in law or to the other girl from Canada. We have to wait to find out more of this situation before we can either turn him in or kill him.” Carol gasp she still can’t grasp around this situation she needs to confront him about it. Agan hands go up and this time he calls on Carol “I want to confront him, and make him answer why me?” “I understand but as for now I think is best if we just wait for that.” “Fine then can I at least pretend like I don’t know any of this...” “What for Carol?” she was interrupted by Adriano “well what if I play the same game, make him fall in love with me and then leave him.”  

Adriano couldn’t believe his ears, how can Carol come up with such a thing, but then Alondra had an idea and she raise her hand. Hoping she could help Adriano call on her, “I think is a good idea, Carol should keep faking this relationship. Think about brother we can’t let him know that we know, and we can’t let him walk out until we know more information. The safest is this, let Carol have her fun I believe she can do it, and when the time comes, she can be the one to make him pay.” Alondra is a smart woman always has, and her idea just made Dominic proud, because he is the only one that can see through her. He knows that she is doing this for Carol more than anything else.  

“Fine” is all Adriano said they have been here hours all he wants now is get this meeting over with, “next questions about the calaveras gang?” Michael was the first to raise his hand and Alberto again making Adriano remember he skipped his father earlier. “Yes father?” “since we are letting Carol take her of Leonel why don’t we let Michael take care of the calaveras they are after his husband after all.” Michael raise an eyebrow at Alberto this is what he had in mind but why does Alberto sound caring now? Since all this deal with don Jose Alberto has been acting dry and now, he sounds like he cares.  

“How do you propose he takes care of this?” Adriano had to ask, “well we could do it like when we take down any other gang or mafia to claim what's ours. Have Michael talk to this Saul guy and have them deal with whatever there is to deal with.” Adriano sighs before he turn to Michael who nods in agreement, because deep down he knows he is not doing this because of the contract. But because ever since that day in Spain he can’t stop thinking of Boni’s lips. He knows he is starting to care for him, care is not the same as love and that is why he is not freaking out right now. 

“Well then how about Don Jose he is coming are we telling him about this?” Alberto is the first and only to nod, nobody else says anything making this decision fully Michael’s.  

The meeting ends and everyone starts to walk out, Boni stands and before he can walk out Michael grabs hold of his arm turning him around. Boni’s chest is press against Michael, “we need to talk” is the only thing he says and then walks out the room pulling Boni with him. When they reach Michael’s room they see the maids leaving since they brough Boni’s things to the room. They enter and Michael remembering the calaveras gang slams Boni against the now close door. Both of Michael's hands on Boni’s shoulders. “Who is this Saul leader of the calaveras gang? And why is he claiming you as his?” 

Boni doesn’t know how to answer he fears Michael right now since he looks really angry and he has never seen him look like this before. He gulps and opens her mouth but nothing comes out, making Michael grip tighten. “He kissed me once, he asked me to date him but I told him I had to think about it, when I found out who he was I said no.” “He kissed you? When?” Again Boni gulp not knowing what was going on, his eyes widen when he realizes when all this happened. “About a week before I was told to marry you,” Michael now was seeing red, because even though Michael didn’t know of the mistake on the names yet at that time Boni had belong to him. Which means Saul touch what belongs to him, oh this was bad because now Michael is promising to himself, he will kill Saul. 

Meanwhile Carol enter her room and was surprise to see that Leonel was already waiting for her here. She jumps seeing him stand and walk to her, “something wrong?” he asked seeing her reaction worry him. “Everything is fine,” she said walking around him towards the bathroom. “I will take a shower then I will go look for you,” she said as she enters her bathroom not waiting for him to answer. He raises an eyebrow thinking what could have made her act so weird. He walks out her room, making carol slide down her bathroom door. “How am I supposed to do this? I do love him, I was wrong I can’t do this” she shakes her head, thinking now, that this was a stupid idea. She should have let Adriano take care of this, she stands and removes her clothes so she can take a shower and maybe an idea will form. 

 Meanwhile Adriano is in his office with Dominic and Alondra, “do you really think she can do this?” Adriano asks Alondra he knows Alondra could do it but Carol? She is more sensitive more caring and sweeter is hard to imagine she could play with someone’s feelings. “Of course, you don’t worry, she is stronger than you think,” even though Alondra has another plan. She will help Carol so she can make Leonel fall for her but will make Carol fall for him as well. The way she sees this is that Leonel has already enter in Carol’s heart so now all she has to do is make Carol enter in his heart. Even though if no one likes it Leonel will be part of this family. 

Dominic knowing his wife very well he knows exactly what she is thinking and he can only hope it works because if doesn’t then they will have problems. Adriano still not feeling completely sure about all this he has nothing but to trust his sister. He knows there's nobody in this world he relies more than on his twin Alondra.
