i just have to apologize for not updating in a while, we all got a cold at home, my husband was the first one to get sick. We are all good now, I will start writing again like before, thanks for been so patient with me, and thanks for reading.

Chapter eleven: I think I love you 

Carol POV 

Waking up next to Leonel has been the best experience ever, it’s been a week since the day we visited the eight bar and ever since he has been staying in my room. Valentina is not too happy for my decision but he doesn’t say much. I walk into the kitchen to start the breakfast, this week a lot has gone on, first Leonel finally found a job which I am happy for him. I hear the front door I walk in the living room to see Leonel. “What’s wrong?” “i lost my job, and I am not in the mood,” he says as he walks to our room. I sit in the sofa staring at nothing while thinking, something must have had happened because he is not one to act like this. I sigh there's nothing I can do but wait for him to talk to me and let me know what is going on with him. 

The whole day seems to go in slow motion until Valentina arrives home, “hey what’s with your face?” I smile a sad smile, “nothing really Leonel had a bad day at work that’s all” she shakes her head. “You don’t want to know what I have to say about this.” “No I.... I do actually” her eye widen at this and she sighs, “fine have you given him money to send to his daughter in the US?” I nod “then he will never feel like he need to keep a job, why would he need a job if you keep giving him everything he needs?” “So what can I do now?” “I think you have to stop giving him money, ask him for rent or groceries or something, he needs to feel the pressure so he can stop quitting his jobs.” Maybe she is right and maybe I just need to stop giving him the money he needs, is just I don’t like seeing him sad, his daughter needs money sometimes.  

“Fine I will try to do as you said and see if this works,” she walks back to her room and I go to mine to check on Leonel. Since he got home this morning he hasn’t come out of our room, I walk in and I can’t believe what I am seeing. He is sleeping, has he been sleeping all day? I shake my head and head out, I sit in the couch and watch television while thinking in everything Valentina said. She could be wrong too right, I mean he could just be going through some bad times, ugh. I am so stupid when it comes to men and I can’t even ask Michael because he is not talking to me. He came by once and well he got the idea that Leonel and I are sleeping together which is true we are a couple. So he said he felt disappointed in me, ever since then which was like three days ago he stopped calling me. I tried calling him once when he didn’t answer I got the meaning so I haven’t called ever since. 

After a while of watching Netflix Leonel comes out the room, he walks to me and takes a sit next to me in the couch. “Hey babe, what are you watching?” “DC legends of tomorrow” I pass him the remote and he looks for a movie while I just rest on him. I am falling in love with him and I don’t know anything about him but he doesn’t know anything about me either. If I try to find things about him he is going to want the same thing and I can’t let him in on my mafia story or more like family. That is why I am here to find myself I just never thought on what it would be when and if I found love. Not that I have it I feel like is complicated, I don’t know how much to say so I stay quiet instead. 

      Meanwhile  

Third person POV 

Michael is in a phone call and has been for a while now, he thinks he is going crazy with Boni so he has been doing calls. Work calls mostly but today is their last day in spain in all he wants now is to deal with Carol. This is why he called Adriano and explain his feelings for the guy she is dating, “again I ask what do you want me to do?” Adriano asks through the phone, “I don’t know but we have to do something because I am pretty sure he is looking for something maybe money. We have to do something or she will get hurt,” Adriano sighs because if Michael is this worry then something is definitely wrong. Michael doesn’t freak out, out of nowhere and everyone knows this, he is the calm one in the family which helps in businesses.  

“Fine I will ask her to come home, I will say we need her, I don’t know for what yet but I will figure it out,” now is Michael who sighs “thanks bro.” “There's nothing to thank for we are family and family looks after each other, now how are things with Boni?” 

Now this is something Michael doesn’t want to talk because as of right now he doesn’t even know where he is at. When Michael was in the shower Boni left the hotel, then again he did left a note behind saying he wanted to go out. Boni knows that Michael doesn’t want to talk about what happened so he is just bored and tired of waiting for him to get it over with. This is why he decided he would go tour around while he let Michael do his work calls. 

In Carol’s apartment she is making dinner when her phone rings, she answers not even caring to check for the caller ID. “hello?” “hey Carol, it’s me Adriano, here is the thing I need for everyone to be here as soon as possible, you included.” At this Carol gets nervous, and worried why do they need to have a family meeting. “Is this a family meeting?” “Yes actually it is” “so what is going on Adriano you are starting to scare me, is something wrong?” “I will explain when you get here I already call Michael ask him to come so he let me in on you been in Spain with him. Could you two please take our private plane, I have it there already, you where to go.” 

After a lot of thinking Carol decides that the best thing to do is take Leonardo with her. “Hey Leo, theirs a family emergency we have to go, so just pack what is necessary, you are coming with me.” “Are you sure? I can stay if you want,” “no I think is better if you meet my family it will makes things easier to explain later.” 

After a few hours Boni and Michael arrive to the private plane where they find Carol and Leonardo. At first Boni is surprise but then he just shrugs it off, they are cousins so maybe there's a family thing. Michael in the other hand is irritated to see that Leonardo is coming, now that he will meet their family a background check will be made. Michael can’t order for one just because of a gut feeling, but since everything that happened with Alondra and Dominic. Alberto and Adriano decided that every new member of the mafia or family would get a background check. So having Leonardo walk into the house will be better than he thought at first, because he and everyone else will finally know who he is. Better yet what he really wants with Carol. 

As soon as they arrive at Italy two cars that had been waiting for them takes them home, for precautions Leonardo had to wear a black hood over his head. Preventing him to see how to get to their mansion, since they now have more security since Dominic. In minutes they arrive letting everyone out the car, they all head inside where the black hood is now removed from Leonel. As soon as he sees the mansion he falls in love, even though he can’t see it from outside the inside is elegant. He can already see that this family is loaded with money, he smirks knowing that he won the lottery with Carol. Mariana comes running and hugs her daughter tight is been a while since she saw her. Carol smiles big, she also missed her mother and her aunts who squeal as they make their way to her. Soon three not so old ladies are hugging the life out of Carol, “we missed you baby” “I missed you too ma” Luke clears his throat making Adriana, Mariana and Caroline move. “Daddy!” even though she is old, Carol will always see her father as her prince charming the guy that has teach her how to protect herself. Luke hugs his daughter then turns to Leonel and frowns. “Nice to meet you sir, I am...” “I don’t care who you are boy, Carol?” “he is my boyfriend dad.” Luke nods and then walks away towards Adriano’s office where Alberto and Michael are looking in Leonel’s background. “Care to explain Michael?” is the first thing he asks when he enters, Jackson signals for him to take a seat and he does. “Sorry uncle I have a bad feeling about this guy I try telling Carol but she doesn’t listen you know her.” 

Even though Luke is angry because no one let him know what was going on he understand that the best thing he can do is know the guy. Is the only way he can see how to get rid of him, because he doesn’t like the boy for his daughter.  

Meanwhile Carol is showing Leonel around the house, the garden everything theirs is to see about her home. Leonel eyes twinkle with excitement because this mansion has everything, he ever dreamed of going back inside she leads him to his room. Even though she would like to sleep with him she knows her parents wont let that happen so he has to sleep in one of the guest rooms. After she leaves him in his room to rest, she goes look for Adriano to try and find out why the family meeting. Adriano lied about the family meeting to get her here but then agin after he hang up with her he looked everywhere for an excuse to have a family meeting. Even though he found a few things he still hopes is enough for her to believe this family meeting thing. 

She knocks on the office “come in” she opens the door and instantly she worries why are every one of the guys here? She wonders, how big of a threat they are dealing with that everyone is in the office. Adriano, Alberto, Jackson, Luke, the family lawyer, Landon (Adriano’s brother), Andres (Michael’s brother), Adrian (Carol’s brother), even Jake is here. Adriano looks up from his desk to see Carol standing by the door, “go rest Carol we will start with our meeting tomorrow after having breakfast.” She nods and walks out towards her room still feeling worried, not been able to sleep she goes looking for Leonel. He is lying in bed watching television when she comes in the room and walks to him sitting in the bed. “Something wrong?” he asks “i don’t know, I think whatever the meeting is for will change a lot of things in this house, it just it seems serious.” He nods then hugs her, planting a kiss in her forehead, “whatever it is will be fine, I am here with you. To be honest with you Carol I think I love you” Carol hugs him back a big smile on her face, “I love you too.” she totally erased the think part making a statement that he loves her and so does she, at least that what she thinks.
