Fear gripped Aurela as her heart raced faster. Her palms became more sweaty as she stood in her tracks.
The maid who had agreed to help her started to fidget in fear as both of them could tell they were already in trouble.
As Alpha Aiden closed the gap between himself and Aurela who was still in pretense of being a maid. “I think I’m talking to a human and not trees?!” he snapped and Aurela shook, losing her balance automatically but was still able to save her face with her hair which covered both sides of her face.
“I…I…came to dress your breeder just like you have ordered and…I…I’m done.” Aurela ended her statement and swallowed hard. She tried as much as possible to control herself from executing too much fear.
Werewolves can sense fear through the rhythmic sounds of one's heartbeat and this is used to determine if one is telling a lie or not. Aurela was about to move after she was done with her explanation but Alpha Aiden’s instinct would not allow it.
“Stop right there!” he commanded and Aurela felt something split inside of her. Her heartbeat raced faster than it had done before.
“Let me see your face!” he ordered and it was then the maid who was inside Alpha Aiden’s room impersonating Aurela knew that she was a dead meat.
“I said let me see your face!” His voice was stern and harsh. Aurela shivered and slowly turned towards Alpha Aiden, her eyes filled with tears which almost blurred her vision. Everyone knew how unforgiving Alpha Aiden could be. He was the fiercest Lycan king that had ever existed in their generation and no one had ever tried to trick or cheat him and live to see the light of the day.
“I’m sorry, Alpha. It won’t repeat itself. Please, forgive me this one time.” Aurela crashed to the floor, her tears flooding the neat, flawless tiles as she held Alpha Aiden’s ankle with her shaky hands.
Alpha Aiden went silent for a while, kicking Aurela off and calling the guards to watch over her, he barged into the room only to see the maid on her knees as well.
“Do you know the consequences of what you have done?!” He snapped, his voice echoing through the whole palace as the maid trembled in fear while rubbing her palms together.
“She forced me, Alpha. She threatened me. I didn’t want to do it. Please, don’t kill me. Spare me! I won’t ever do it again. I have a six-year-old child waiting for me and an old grandmother who is sick. I’m the only one left for them.” The maid wept at Alpha Aiden’s feet in fear as tears rolled down her cheeks, Alpha Aiden dragged her by the hair and threw her outside causing her to hit Aurela who was still begging for her life too.
“Please, spare us Alpha. I pushed her into it. Please, spare her life.” Aurela begged with her face all red and swollen from the tears that streamed her face.
Judging from Alpha Aiden’s look, he wasn’t ready to forgive them both. It has never happened before and not even this time.
“Did you think I brought you here for jokes? Do you know how much I used to obtain you?” Alpha Aiden demanded, bending to his knees as he raised Aurela’s face.
“Are you aware I’m not also the one who’s supposed to be in this position?” Suddenly Aurela’s confidence overrules and for a second she forgets the crime she just committed. Alpha Aiden's face looked all flushed as he watched Aurela trying to defend herself.
“Are you sick? It’s obvious because who should have been here if not you? Huh!” he banged his hand on the ground which caused it to crack instantly, sending more fear to the maid beside Aurela who was begging for her life.
“My sister. My sister was the one who was–”
“Enough! I will make her a scapegoat!” Alpha Aiden pointed at the maid who had volunteered to help Aurela out of her misery. “It seems you do not know the gravity of your offense and I’ll make you understand!” Alpha Aiden yelled and right in front of Aurela, he brought out his fangs, raising his hand into the air, he slashed the maid's throat and her blood spilled on Aurela’s face.
The maid held her neck and collapsed to the ground, her blood pumping faster as she gasped in tears, she said her last words. “Take care…of…my…my…ah…fam…family.”
“No! No, no, no, no! No!” Aurela screamed as adrenaline ran through her whole system. She rushed towards the maid soaked in blood and raised her head on her lap before looking back at Alpha Aiden. “What the hell have you done?!” Aurela wailed as her head shook in fear. With more tears rolling down her cheeks she accused Alpha Aiden in anger, this time, setting her feelings or whatever punishment is to befall her aside. “You f*cking killed her! You kil–”
Thud!
A thunderous slap hit her on the right cheek which sent a burning sensation to her cheeks immediately.
“No, little princess. Your stupidity and indecisiveness killed her. And you will do whatever I say from now on.” Alpha Aiden shrieked, his face all squeezed in anger and his handsome features disappeared right before my face.
The only thing Aurela can see right now is the beast they’ve rumored him to be, he really is the fearless Lycan king. The one who doesn’t spare anyone for their mistakes.
“And what if I say no!” Aurela shouted in anger, frustration evident in her voice as she watched Alpha Aiden signal to his soldiers to pack the dead maid and dispose of her body while tears kept falling from my eyes knowing that she was the cause of her demise.
“Then you leave me no choice!” he clapped his hand and two of his personal guards came through, each with bigger muscles and countable six packs since they were shirtless but other soldiers were in armor.
“Lock her up. No food, no water, and make her do the hardest work in the dungeon till I say otherwise!” He shouted.
