With my eyes closed, I waited for the werewolf to sink its teeth into my flesh. However strange in that situation, I enjoyed the serenity I had with my eyes closed. I felt protected from the world and this harsh reality. It was as though I had a safe space. Lol,Ignore the irony of this statement, please.
(grrrrrrr) I heard more growls, and this time they were closer.
(grrrrrrr) any time now, I thought.
(GRRRRR) I heard the loudest growl, and I thought this was it. I squeezed my already closed eyes shut and tight, thinking about the impending pain, but it never came.
I waited and waited, but still, there was nothing. No werewolf tore my skin off me.Did something happen, or perhaps he was savoring me as his meal before tearing me apart?
Curiosity got the better of me, and I opened one eye at a time only for me to see a breath taking white and brown furred werewolf in front of me in a protective stance.
The wolf was not even snarling like the others. It seemed calm and very rational and kept looking at the other werewolves like a senior would to a junior
The staring contest did not last long, and at last, the other werewolves left.
On the other hand, I was daydreaming about the gorgeous wolf in front of me, I must have had stars in my eyes because I found that particular wolf very enchanting.
I turned to the side. I last saw my sister to see if she'd also be admiring the wolf only to find that she had fainted?
I rushed to her side in the best possible way I could with all my injuries and numb limbs.
"Sister." I whispered as I touched her hand and moved it a bit.
"Sister," I tried again, but still no response. I quickly checked her pulse and then moved to assess her breathing, and to my relief, both were intact.
I made a move to double-check if she was really breathing, but then a charismatic deep voice sounded stopping my actions, "she's not dead...at least not yet." he said. He had transformed from his wolf form to human form so quickly that I did not even get to see anything interesting, jokes.
" Not yet? What do you mean? Is there something wrong with my sister ? And how do you know? And why did you save us? who are you? Lastly, thank you for saving us." I said to the mysterious hot guy in front of me who also happened to be a wolf, and we all know that wolves and I do not mix.
" She has been poisoned, the claws marks over there. There is poisoning seeping out of that wound, I can smell it from here. As for the rest of those questions, it is best we get out of the woods first. Then we shall have a good and lengthy discussion about that with your mother." The mysterious guy said in a neutral bored tone.
"Wait, are we not going to do something about the poison first?" I asked.
He shook his head without saying anything else to explain. Well, I was not going to give up that easily, not with my sister's life on the line.
" What do you mean? is there nothing we can do for her? can't we stop the poison from circulating?" I anxiously asked
" Do you have the magical expertise to do so?" he asked as he c****d an eyebrow in my direction. Wait, how does he know that I am a witch?
"No, not at the moment." I replied dryly
"Well, quit wasting my time, and let's get moving. It's almost morning." he said. I must say he was very rude and I had every intention to let him know.
"Excuse me, I did not catch your name." I said
"I don't think it matters." he replied curtly as he made his way to me and my sister and effortlessly lifted her up.
"No, actually, it does matter." I said, standing up and crossing my arms on my chest.
"Why?" he said as he started walking, and I automatically followed him, though I was certain he did not know where we lived.
" Because I have something to say, and I believe it requires your name."
"Go ahead and say it." he replied, "also, can you walk faster?" he added
" I would if I could. And no, I just can't say it without your name." I was getting frustrated, though I was grateful that he saved us.
"Ronald." he offered
"Well, I must say, Ronald ...sir, you are very rude." I said to him with a huff, and his name made me think that he was older than he looked, which made me use 'sir' to address him
Ronald chuckled, " Well, add that to things we need to address when we get out of these woods."
