MISSING: THE LAST FOSTER

Chapter 9

"Babe? How are you feeling?" Raixen asked when finally Shekinah opened her eyes.

"Where am I? Why do I have these things, Rex?" Shekinah asked and looking at the dextrose connected in her hand.

"You are in the hospital, thank God you're finally awake. Do you need anything? Food, fruits, water? Aren't you hungry?" They were so worried. She's probably hungry.

"Water please."

Raixen was about to stand up when the door opened harshly and there, revealing their three best of friends. They have fruits and flowers in their hands.

"OH MY GOD! Sheki! You're awake!" Lizle screamed in happiness and put her flower in the table and went to the left of the bed. Shekinah didn't even c***k a smile. Yes, her eyes are opened but seems like dead. Her skin was pale and her lips cracked and dry.

Hedeliza weakly smiled to Shekinah who seems lost, still lost. "How are you feeling?" She asked and carefully reached Shekinah's hand.

"We were so worried, Sheki. You were sleeping for three days and that scared the hell out of us," Lizle said making Shekinah turn her eyes on Lizle.

"I wanna go home," Shekinah said getting Raixen's attention.

"But Sheki you are not yet --" Lizle wasn't able to finish her words because Shekinah spoke and interrupted her.

"I wanna go home, Raixen." Raixen shut his eyes when he heard his name from Shekinah. She's not yet okay, she have to stay here yet a bit longer. They have to make sure she's really fine but to look back, it wasn't the fever that made her sick.

Raixen nodded to Felix telling him to call the doctor and check her first before going out to go home. The girls looked at Raixen with disbelief in their eyes and Raixen's eyes are making them understand something ended just made them sigh and didn't argue.

They were all the same, they want the same. They want something good for Shekinah's fast recovery. Her pain is inevitable but maybe they can make something productive to lessen that heavy feelings and agony she has in her heart.

"Babe, if the doctor approves and allow you to go home, we'll go home. But if the doctor will say no, you'll stay here until they say go," Raixen said hoping Shekinah would understand and listen. Well, she surely understand it's just that she would surely won't like it.

"I don't like here, Rex. I don't like here," Shekinah answered coldly.

The door opened and there Felix come in with the doctor behind. The doctor lookes around and smiled when she met Shekinah's eyes. However, Shekinah seems forgetting what is smile for a couple of days now.

Raixen looked at Felix and Felix nodded. These guys didn't even speak a word but understand each other. The girls stand in the side when the doctor is running some test in Shekinah.

It's a good thing that she now stopped crying but her silence is something scary.

"Ms. Foster, you are getting better but your body still need a rest. For now, please stay still. I'll be back tomorrow and check your status and hopefully by then, you're fine so you can go home." The doctor said, bowing her head before excusing herself.

"Thank you Doc," Raixen said before the Doctor can go out from the room. "You heard that babe? The Doctor said you still have to undergo some checks tomorrow meaning you still can't go home today. How about eat some food and fruits for you to get better fast?" He was trying his best to take care Shekinah even if his girlfriend is not responding.

"We'll buy some additional fruits, what do you want, Sheki?" Lizle said smiling to Shekinah, she waited a minute still not receiving a response. Shekinah was focused and staring at the window of her room where the outside is visible.

Then Felix bid a goodbye and dragged the girls outside to buy fruits and cook some food so they don't need to eat the hospital food.

Shekinah gulped and her tears just came out fron her eyes. She remembered when she walked all the way her house to the home of her family now. They were lying next to each other and she wanna lie down with them.

She misses them and she wanna see them again. There was never a day that it would take a week more than a week that they could see each other. Their parents might go abroad for some business trip and deals but they never forget they have kids, especially her mom, the moment she stepped in the other country she would call her. Her mom never forget to call her and remind her to look after her sister.

"I wish everything was just a dream."

Raixen heard Shekinah speak that made him look at her. Shekinah herself turn her head to see Raixen and there, she was able to see the eyes of the man that she knew won't give up on her.

"When I noticed that you're gone. I thought I'm going crazy. I wanted to cry but I also don't want to burst into tears because you need me. Babe, you're life didn't end and will never end in that pain you are keeping in your heart. I thought I'm going to lose you. I'm going to die if that's gonna happen. Don't scare me like that again, please. If you want to visit them, I am free. I can drive you there, just don't go somewhere else alone without telling me," he said, holding her hand with his left and fixing her hair that covered her eyes and put it in behind of her ear.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to scare you guys. But Jasmien, she kept on visiting me in my sleep and they're all lying down next to each other, I want too," she said with her tears. Her tears are Raixen's weakness. Everytime he sees her crying he felt useless because he couldn't think something that could feel better.

"You want to lie down with them? How about me? Babe, are you giving up? You know that God won't give you pain you can't handle and surpass, remember? It's you who taught us that. You are strong, remember? You break bones, you c***k and fire guns and some more."

"But I feel like I don't have life anymore, Rex. I don't have parents, I don't have siblings, literally, I am alone ---"

"You are not alone Shekinah. What do you think of me? I am here. Hedeliza, Felix and Lizle. Lucas also keeps on asking how are you, mom is worried about you and the parents of our friends. You see babe? You are not alone and you will never be alone. Defeat the pain and smile again, baby. I miss you so much," Raixen wasn't able to hold his tears any longer.

He looked at her when she reached his hand. "When I was sleeping, I saw mom in my dream. She was smiling but didn't said a word. I also dad in the other side and he was also smiling. Gio was pissed and sending me his sharpest glare while Jasmien, she was crying and wanted to climb unto me. They looked happy, how can they be happy while me, I'm breaking into pieces," she said crying hard.

She knew it was her mind didn't want to wake up, she still don't want to wake up for she was seeing her family in her dream. She was with them, complete and she could see their faces, all of them. Now that she woke up, she wished everything was just a dream and her dream was the reality but no, because the reality is the fact that she's alone, she's an orphan.

The smile her parents wearing in their faces are telling her to get up and live a life. The annoyance her brother has is telling her to run free and the tears of her baby sister is telling her to wipe her own tears. But how? How can she do that? Where is going to start a life?

"Acceptance, I know that's the hardest. Do you remember when I lost dad? I was also in my lowest and I was the weakest, but you didn't give up on me. You were my cane to stand up again, you were the one who didn't give up to make me laugh and you were the one who said and made me realize that the life ahead in my feet doesn't have a dead end, it was continuous and I have mom and Lucas to look for," Raixen tried himself to smile.

"Rex, can I live? Can I still see the life you are saying? Can I still appreciate jokes? This is so heavy," she said pointing her chest while her tears still didn't stop. "It seems like wanted to come out from my ribcage. It's painful that I wanted to crash it. There are times that in order not to feel the pain is to sleep – forever. I want to be with my family but their smile in their dream, they seem like don't want me there. They don't want me there!"

"Because you are not meant to be there, you still have bunch of projects needed to be done here. You still have to graduate in your law school, you'll take exam with Lizle, you are going to pass the exam, and you'll be soon the toughest enemy in court. And babe, the charity of your mom helping less fortunate, your family's company. The Foster's Empire, your family's property and me. I am here, you are going to marry me soon, right?" He said trying to make her laugh for telling her all the things waiting for her.

He is not going to turn his back to Shekinah. Now that she has everything in her shoulder, he will be her balancer so whatever or however the weight of the world she is going to carry she won't stumble.

"And yes babe, you have all the time to see the world again. You can rule the world someday and Mr. President would be so very proud of you. That's why you need to get well, be strong, smile and get up."

He offered his hand for her but instead of accepting it, Shekinah pull him for a hug. He missed it, he missed her. "I miss you too so much, Rex." He heard her saying and that got him teary eyed.

"You once told me that real guys don't cry, do you still believe in that?" He asked.

Shekinah nodded and Raixen's shoulder fell. "I miss them, Rex. I miss my family. It's been what? Almost 3 weeks since the last time I was able to speak with them. Yes, I saw them in my dreame but they didn't even a word or even just call my name," she painfully said.

"Do you remember what I kept on telling you? What our friends told you several times?" He asked softly but she seems not forgetting anything. That's understandable, she had so many things in mind and probably, she did hear what they said but didn't catched it.

"We kept on telling you that they were not totally gone. Physically yes, but their love and their presence remains, in your home and in your heart. You got four guardian Angel, babe. I am pretty sure that everything you are planning to do in the next few days are going to be blessed because you have great angels in heaven, they are to going to shower you blessings for being strong."

"I love you," she said making Raixen froze.

His mouth opened in awe and smile like a saucer. In his happiness he lift her and hugged her as tight as he could.

"I miss that, I miss you telling me that. Welcome back love, welcome back," he said and because Shekinah still have the dextrose connected in her arm she groaned in pain because Raixen's arm is pressing her arms.

"Hey, get off me. It hurts," she said catching her breath and trying to move her arms that is pressed into her side.

Raixen rushed to let her go and he was very sorry.

"I'm so sorry, I was just so happy that finally you are getting back. I'm so sorry, did it hurt?" He asked like an i***t. Shekinah was looking at her coldly. He blinks and nodded himself. "Yeah, I guess that was really hurt. I'm so sorry baby."

"I still have no idea what will gonna happen to me in the next days."
