MISSING: THE LAST FOSTER

Chapter 3

"Baby, are you okay?" Raixen trying to pull an attention from Shekinah who's suddenly became weird and quiet and that's not her usual self.

Shekinah's holding her fork looking straight to the burger she have in her saucer and suddenly impaling the burger with the fork. All of them were curiously looking at Shekinah – she seems thinking bad or deep.

"Babe, baby, hey!" Once again, Raixen tried putting his hands on Shekinah's shoulder. She startled and almost fell in her chair. "Why? You seem lost, are you okay?" he asked, worrying.

Shekinah shakes her head and covered her palms in her face, laughing a little.

"What happened to you? We're calling you nonstop and getting your attention but your mind seems like occupied," Lizle said.

"I don't know, I just feel like something weird. I'm getting nervous and I don't know why," she explained.

It's a sudden feeling that covered her mind and body. She seems shaking and her heart beats so fast. She have no idea what does it mean, well, she have few in mind and she wouldn't want to think about it. That's a bad thing.

"What? Why? Are you drinking coffee again?" Hedeliza was trying to make some joke. She knew Shekinah would never drink coffee again, the last time she did, she was struggling with her stomach so she won't dare doing it again.

"I won't dare drinking that goddamn coffee, your favorite, Felix, the hell with that!" she said hissing with Felix and trying to pull a smile.

They all chuckled but she's really feel so uneasy. She have very bad thing in mind that she wants to divert on something but keeps on coming back in her head. She groaned picking her bottled water and drink it.

"Sheki, you really don't seem okay," Lizle said with a concern eyes.

"I don't know but I really felt a sudden uneasiness. Babe, I don't know but I'm nervous, maybe because I'm having the last major exam today?" She talks to Raixen.

Raixen nodded and trying to absorb Shekinah's feeling. He held her hands squeezing to make her feel okay. That she have nothing to worry about, she's always doing great, major exam is just a piece of cake for Shekinah.

Raixen on the other hand was feeling nervous as well, he also felt a sudden uneasiness for something he do not know and wouldn't understand. He couldn't said it, among him and Shekinah, it's him who has to stay in mind.

Bell rang and that says Shekinah's exam is about to start. Accident happened before and that's the reason why she's taking a summer class, they came just to show support Shekinah and to bond with her. Well, they're always have this bond a group of friend always does, except going to any places like bars of course.

The fact that she can do whatever she wants also have a limitations. Yes, she can whatever she wants but that would also reflect to her father's image and she won't taint her father's name.

Her dad, her parents brought their name in the top without a negative side of it, all clean activities and all clean projects, no hidden agendas around.

The group walks down with Shekinah unto the examination hall.

"Goodluck Sheki, we know you can do it. Whatever you have in mind, forget that first, forget Rex first," Hedeliza said lightening up the atmosphere she's feeling. Also receiving Raixen's fist lightly.

"You're polluting Shekinah's mind, Ms. Tejares," Raixen said to make sure he could piss Hedeliza. She doesn't want to be called Ms., according to her that sounds so girly since that's how she called the girl she's interested.

Shekinah bid a good-bye to her group before stepping inside the examination hall. Silence is deafening and that's weird. Everyone is looking at her with worried or something in their eyes.

They don't seem silent earlier but now became so quiet when she entered the hall.

"What's wrong?" she nervously asked. One of her classmate she knew stand up from her seat and come closer to her. She looks at her, confused.

"Sheki, are you okay?" The girl asked, made her even more nervous and confused.

Why the hell these people looks at her with pity! Why the hell they're asking her if she's okay?! She looked at their professor and waited her to speak up.

"I would understand if you couldn't make in today's exam, you can tell me when do you want to take it," her professor said.

Her eyes frowned and her forehead knotted for something. She never ever asked nor move her examination date. That's being VIP and her dad told her not to be one, cause she's not VIP.

"Why would I ask to move the exam date, I'm already here, can't I take the exam now?" She asked, she's getting pissed now. What the hell are these people trying to show and tell her.

She give a glance to the girl who stand in her side. "Sheki, we heard the news," the girl said, biting her lower lip while trying to be sound sensitive.

"What news?"

She heard everyone gasp in surprised. They were all glancing at her like she has two grown heads. She's now catching her breath, she's being so nervous 10 times the nervousness she felt earlier. What does this mean?

"Sheki---"

"Could you please stop calling me my name? Why are you all looking at me like that? What news you guys are talking about? What the hell?" She said, shouting. She couldn't hold her emotions anymore.

The professor's tears comes out from her eyes, Shekinah saw how the professor wipe it quickly. She walks towards the professor's table, stopped when a door opened harshly revealing her crying friends.

"Shekinah," Lizle called her covering her mouth in the midst of her sobs.

"Why are you crying? Are you okay Lizle?" Her words quivers.

Lizle hugged her tight followed by the crying Hedeliza. She couldn't understand. She's do not know what is happening but her tears also went down from her eyes. She could feel the heaviness in her chest for some reason.

She looked at Raixen who clenched his jaw and gritted his teeth as well as Felix and both crying.

"I – I don't understand," she said getting away from the girls arms.

Raixen held her hand and guided her outside from the examination hall. She glanced her professor that gives her a sad smile as well as her classmates, letting her to go out from the hall. .

No words would want to come out from her mouth but she's waiting to hear something to clear her mind. Felix and Raixen leading their way fast while Hedeliza and Lizle is holding both her arm like they're trying to balance her.

She's confused, very confused until they reached the parking area and all of them go inside to Felix's car and went out from the school.

The moment they passed by the school gate's her chest was seems like getting hammered. Raixen didn't said a word but held her hands like seems assuring he's just here.

She give a little glance to Felix and Lizle who are setting in both the driver's seat and shotgun, she can hear the little sobs of Lizle while Felix was so serious looking at the high way busy driving his car to somewhere she do not know.

Hedeliza who's looking at the window having a reflection that is also crying in silence. The scenes are breaking her heart. She could feel that something horrible happened.

Raixen is trying to think a word to tell that could make Shekinah okay when they reach the destination their going. But he couldn't fine any word. He's lost. He do not know what to say, he do not know if he could make her feel okay.

Now that they're seeing the lined ambulance and police, now that Felix started to drive very slowly, now that they're getting closer to that place, Shekinah's breath is getting heavier.

She looks at everyone with her when Felix pull over near the ambulance, 4 ambulance in here and she's confused why Felix pull the gas.

"Sheki," Hedeliza's voice are shaking making her eyes watered.

"Babe," finally she heard Raixen's voice, she looks at him but she lost a word.

She heard a commotion outside that got her attention. Her eyes widened in shock and her mouth opened, her lips quivers in horror. Her heart stopped the moment her eyes landed in the thing she knows very well. She quickly opened the door and went outside. Raixen and friends followed.

"Aaaahhh, what happened! That's, that's our family van," she said, crying hard.

Police and rescuers are pulling the van up from the 35ft water. The bridge side is broken. Shekinah ran fast to get close to the van but Raixen stops her. The girls are crying while looking at Shekinah trying to get Raixen arms around her off.

"Daddy! Mommy! Gio! Jasmien!" she cried their names, her entire family names.

That van is the van her family uses for their vacation. She saw that in their garage when before leaving their home.

Shekinah breaks down when the rescuer announced that the President and his family was there inside the van.
