MISSING: THE LAST FOSTER

Chapter 16

Shekinah keep the letter back to the black box that came when she saw her dad's name. How can this package named from her dad and sent to her after almost 7 months. The moment she landed her eyes into the name of her father for it wasn't written to the plastic that covers the package, her chest thundered in nervousness.

She can feel and she can hear how loud her heart beats that fast. She still haven't seen what is in the letter. Everyone left already for like 5 or 6 hours now and here she is looking at the box still don't know what she wanted to do with this.

She knows that there is something in this, she still can't prove that this letter is really from her dad. It's been almost 7 months and if it's from her dad, who sent it to her? Why sent it just now?

Shekinah was about to reach the box when her phone rings so loud that startled her and get back to her seat. She put her hand in her chest because of the nervous. She picked up her phone and answer the call.

"Babe," she speak.

("Are you busy?") Raixen asked from the other line.

She looked at the box and shakes her head. "No, I'm not," she answered.

("Are you okay?") Raixen knows her well. He can sense her if she's not in the mood by simply listening her voice.

"Y-yeah, it's just the loud sound of my phone startled me. I put it in the highest volume. I was reading seriously," she lied and heard Raixen sighed. She has to tell her okay even if she's honestly nervous. She knows Raixen too.

("You sure? Do you want me to go there?")

"No, no, you don't need to come over. It's getting late, babe, just stay there. I'll just finish this book and sleep afterwards," she said while clearly she's not reading a book not even looking at the book. Raixen would get worried immediately that she has to lie to calm her boyfriend.

("Are you sure? I'm worried, Shekinah.") He is serious. Everytime he mention her name that means he is terribly worried or mad.

"Pretty sure. Are you not busy?" She asked trying to divert the conversation with her eyes that are still glued in the box. This mystery box is still bothering her mind.

("I'm not, I'm thinking about you. Ahm, about your package, have you read it? Was that really came from Mr. President?")

"I haven't read it yet. I don't know, Rex. If this letter really came from dad, who sent it to me? Why took 7 months? And why would dad let other people to give this letter? If he has something he want to tell me, he would always tell that to me personally. At the same time, I had a feeling that there is something in this letter. I don't know what, but, I don't know or I'm just overthinking," she honestly said.

("You have a point there, babe. But what if that letter really came from your dad? What if there is also an important information or thing in that letter, what if that letter can help you – can help us to find and solve your assumption? Babe, you have to read that letter. Not necessarily now, but it could be tomorrow or the next day, just don't throw that.") Raixen said and she understand what he is trying to imply.

She's also thinking about that. Who would send a letter of the late person into the person that is really close to him or her? Raixen is right, what if there's an answer in this letter?

"Yeah, I'll check this one soon," she replied. She's absorbing every words of Raixen, he is actually right. Her what if's versus Raixen's what if's. She asked their friends to keep this one.

("Alright, don't stress yourself, okay? Go sleep right after you're done with that book.")

"Yes, thank you. Goodnight, baby," she said holding her breath not to sigh while on call. When Raixen said goodnight and ended the call, Shekinah breath heavily and sigh hard. Her eyes again are glued with the black box.

Shekinah put the box in her locked vault. She should not stress herself about this letter. If that's from her dad, that must be important but if that's from just random people and pretends and uses her dad's name, that must be a prank. She'll read that tomorrow but now, she need a cold water to calm her mind and get a good sleep. She still have a long day tomorrow.

In morning, she's virtually working for their company and wasn't able to go to her office yet– previousy belongs to her mom – and just chooses to stay at home and work from there to avoid paparazzi coming their work and make some commotions. Plus, she's studying and working from home can lessen her struggle of fighting the traffic back and forth from the office.

Lizle is waiting for Felix to come and fetch her so they can go to school together. She is not a good driver like her best friends, Hedeliza and Shekinah who can drift a car. She can drive, yeah, but she would scream in fear if there's a car very close to her and that happened in the highway because of traffic, that is why Felix's fetching her is his routine.

Her smile widened when she spotted her boyfriend's car. She waived her hand and excitedly open the shotgun door and give a peck kiss to Felix cheek like she always does.

"You're hyper, what's with you?" Felix asked with his eyes look straight to the road.

"I got a call from Gregors and they said my desk is ready and with me, everything is complete," she said happily.

She's happy because she and Shekinah will be having both their internship in Gregors Law Firm and Raixen and his mom do not have an idea that Shekinah applied in their firm.

Though, Shekinah was known to be the daughter of the business tycoon Carmen Foster and the late President Alexander Foster that is also known as the power Foster couple. And aside from that, Foster and Gregors are best of friends that is why Shekinah had a second thought of applying there but she made Shekinah and now, they are going to work there together.

"So, Raixen doesn't have an idea that Shekinah applied in their firm?" Felix' asked.

Lizle shakes her head and pouted. She promised Shekinah she is not going to tell anyone about that. Shekinah made a lie that she applied in Torres Law Firm, their classmate's Family Firm and Raixen was cheering for Shekinah even though, Torres Law Firm is one of their competitors.

"Nope, you know Shekinah, she wants everything kept private and she will surely skin me alive if she'll know that I told you. You have to keep that filty mouth of yours, babe, so you won't get a dead girlfriend. You know I have nothing against Shekinah. I can deal with Hiede but not the silent but deadly Shekinah Foster," she explains seriously, very serious.

Felix laugh and she looked at him with the deadliest glare she can do.

"What are you laughing at?" she said raising her voice.

"What? None! I was just trying to imagine how probably is Raixen's face when he knows that Shekinah applied in his family's company. Knowing that he cheered Shekinah a lot for Torres'," Felix explains and Lizle c***k a smile and a little laugh.

She was about to press the radio on when she spotted the girl passing by the highway. "Hey! Watch out!" she screams in her lungs and panting when Felix got to pull over after he heard her and got startled.

"What was that?" Felix looked at her, confused.

"There's a girl" Lizle said still panting and pointing outside in front of the car, when she look it back she saw no one. There was no girl. Her eyes narrowed so she immediately unlocked her seatbelt.

"Babe? Hey! Don't go out!" Felix said, shouting but Lizle didn't listen and so he also unlocked his seatbelt and followed his girlfriend.

"Babe, the-there's no one," Lizle said, whispered and roam around her eyes. There's literally no one. They are still inside their village going out and you'll just barely see people roaming outside in the middle of the noon.

"What girl? Where's the girl?" Felix asked and Lizle shakes her head.

"I don't know," she answered in her nervousness. She is certain she saw a girl, she can prove it. She hurriedly go back inside the car and call Felix to rush in and drive. She can prove it and she know what to do.

"Babe, what's with you?" Felix asked knotted his forehead.

"Just drive, I'll check it later. I know I've seen a girl but why the hell there was no girl in there?"

"A kid? Or an adult? What girl?"

"I don't know but seems like in our age? I don't know everything happened so fast, very fast. Can you go a little bit faster?" She asked and hold her hand in her seatbelt so tight.

If Shekinah and Hedeliza can fight in a car race, she can also stay in the bench and cheer for her friends. Among the five of them she's the least athletic. Felix also joined car race with the others, she's always left in the bench holding her props and cheering her best friends.

That is why, when she asked Felix to make a little bit faster, Felix looked at her like really has two grown heads or 7 tails in her back. She would never ask for a fast drive but she is so eager to check the dashcam.

"Raixen and Shekinah just entered," Felix said pointing Raixen's car.

Another car for the agressive reporters to scratch. Those thrashes! They even won't give a single centavo for the repair. The heck! And they have the guts to bother other people's lives to satisfy their asses. The audacity!

"Let's check the dashcam immediately, babe. I know I have seen a girl and I do not know why the hell there was no girl in there, did she crawl that fast? But where to? Into the grasses? The grasses beside the road that is taller than a person?" She said frustratingly.

She have to answer his question, she have to satisfy her mind, if not, she will just go bothered for something she won't understand. She glanced at the side mirror and Hedeliza's car is coming next to the car next to them.

"Are you sure you weren't just rapt thinking?"

"Rapt thinking? Babe, I was in my mind, my mind was clear. That would never happen. I'm not even bothered for something earlier," she said in annoyance.

When Felix successfully parked the car, she directly went to check the dashcam and everything that it got caught. She forwarded the video and suddenly felt depressed when she really did saw the image of a girl in the camera but there is no girl that crawls and stand up.

"What the hell?" Felix swears when he saw it. The face can't be seen but it's clearly a girl. The hair isn't messy but kinda covering her face.

"Huh!" Lizle blinks several times in shock when she heard a knock in her window and saw Shekinah outside. She's catching her breath and because Felix car is full tinted Shekinah can't see her from the outside.

"Why are you guys not going out yet?" Shekinah asked when she opened the door.

"Where is Raixen and Hiede?" She asked. Felix is busy playing the video pause backward and pause forward. Shekinah pointed Raixen's car with Hedeliza's car in the side.

She's honking to get their attention and she succeeded. She gestured to call them close.

"Get inside guys," she commanded and the three followed without any question.

"What are you watching, Felix?" Hedeliza asked.

"That is what I am going to show you guys, come on, come closer, what do you think is that image?" Lizle asked them pointing the camera in pause.

Their eyes narrowed and analysing the image.

"A girl?" Hedeliza said not so sure with her answer.

"She's correct, a girl," Raixen agreed.

"Well, I agree as well," Shekinah said.

Lizle stump her back against the cushion in the seat. She seems suddenly got lack of strength.

"Why? We're wrong? But that's really is a girl," Hedeliza said perplexed seeing Lizle's reaction.

"Yeah, I agree," Shekinah seconded.

"I know, I also said that's a girl because I really saw that with my own two eyes not in the camera but with unaided eye. That is why I came to check the camera," Lizle said almost crying.

"But we didn't see any person when we went out the car," Felix said. Lizle is dramatically crying and so Raixen played the video until their car stopped in just one place where the image of girl was caught.

"What is that?" Raixen asked bemused.

"You mean---"

"I yelled on him to pull over because I saw a girl infront and we're going to hit her but when we stopped I saw no one that is why I decided to go out then nothing! There's no girl, no boy, nothing at all." Felix pull Lizle into a hug and hand her a water.

"What does it mean? We can have this video checked by an expert," Raixen seriously said. Lizle and Felix nodded.

"That's inside in your village, Liz, right?" Hedeliza asked and Lizle answered a yes.

"I had goosebumps," Shekinah said and looked at her arms.

"Imagine the goosebumps I had, damn! I thought my heart would go out from my chest. If that's a woman where did she go? After the car stopped the image is gone as well," Lizle said and all of them nodded.

"Is there anyone playing prank on us?" Hedeliza seriously and that caught everyone's attention.

"What do you mean?" Shekinah's voice became firm in seriousness.

"Someone left this note in my car, I went back inside the house since I forgot my phone so I parked my car outside the gate just earlier before I drive all the way here," Hedeliza said and showed a picture of a sticky note in her car hood cover.

The note says, "take care."
