Three “About time you two get home,” Becky chided teasingly when Luke and Alex strode through the front door of the cabin at a quarter after seven. Luke braced his hands on the back of the couch and leaned down to give his wife a kiss before he turned a tired smile on Becky. “Sorry. Practice ran a bit late.” Alex dropped his backpack on the floor beside the front door, then sprawled on the loveseat with his arms flopped out to the sides, his legs stretched out in front of him, and his head resting on the back. After only a moment’s respite, he bounced to his feet again and strode over to Ryan to take Ashleigh. Becky smiled fondly.
