Chapter 12

1821 Words
I'm Sen, one day I went to Sana's house. In the unusually quiet inn, I fear that no one is here at this hour, but fortunately for me, the people here are taking a nap. I knocked on the door of a room, the person inside quickly opened the door. "Oh, what are you doing here?" Sana's roommate asked. “I came to see Sana, is she here?” She replied, “Sana is not here, she is already home.” I frowned, feeling that Sana couldn't come home at this time, because I still saw her in the morning. I looked inside the room, trying to find Sana's figure. The girl saw that I didn't believe it and said annoyed: "What are you looking for, Sana came home this morning! If you don't believe it, go into your room and find it." The girl moved aside, I had no intention of going in. The people in the room, because they heard the noise, looked out at the same time, and met my eyes at the same time. Seeing that, I shyly said "No need, thank you." then left quickly. I feel like I'm being a bit too much, and I can't go into their room check, it's very impolite.  The other children were still wandering around looking for me, I tried my best to turn in other directions, and finally, I lost my way. I was pulled into a corner and still couldn't understand what was going on… I was aiming for a place where no one sees could hide, seeing that the children were about to pass by, I was ready to stand up and run. Unexpectedly, before I could say anything, someone else covered my mouth. “What are you doing? Leave me out!" I pried his hand away, and found that this was the man with a leg injury I met at the inn. Today he appeared in front of me again, maybe he wanted to blame me for making Sana sick. "You won't talk to me properly, do you?" He motioned for me to keep quiet, his face was extremely tense, I had no choice but to keep quiet. He blocked my vision, I raised my head curiously and looked out at the road. After looking at it, I felt a chill down my spine. There was nothing unusual on the road, the only abnormality was that some young men were walking and talking there. Those people I know - I rarely remember other people's faces, but these people make me scared so I can't forget them. Those were the people who chased after me last time, I can't remember all of them, but a few typical faces I still remember like a print in my mind. I blurted out, "Why are they here?" “Of course they come over here to work.” He whispered: "Damn, every month the other organization sends a few people over here to talk, I didn't expect it to be them this month!" Listening to him speak, I understood roughly. Then those guys will probably come over here often, it even started before I made a grudge against them. It's scary, I didn't know it just now and ran all over the place. If I run into them, I can't imagine the consequences. After waiting for a few minutes, I couldn't see anyone anymore so I pushed him away, my mood was not very good and my back was covered in a cold sweat. I said, "Thank you for helping me, but this is my problem so I hope you don't interfere with it in the future." “Who said I wanted to interfere? It's because of you that we were dragged here!" He stood up from the ground and shouted at me without hesitation. I looked down in annoyance I saw his hand was bleeding. I didn't expect there were so many porcelain shards on the ground, so I pushed him away, but accidentally made those porcelain shards stick in his hand. “Your hand—” I quickly took his hand, carefully picking up the pieces on it, trying to lower my ego to ask, “Are you okay?” This question is really superfluous, just looking at it with the naked eye can see that he is not okay, with this wound, if not handled properly, it is easy to get an infection. He jerked his hand back and rudely said, "Whatever happens to me is none of your business!" I tried to keep my face from showing distaste, asking for his name. Anyway, he seems to be familiar with Sana, and I see him so often so asking his name is quite necessary. The way he answered annoyed me, but at least I knew his name was James. “Then James, why do you say I dragged you into trouble? I remember I didn't do anything, did you guys antagonize them before, so now you have to avoid them like me?" James glared at me and scolded me: "I said it's you that it's you, now you hear it clearly, hurry home and stay there, don't come to find us anymore." After saying that, he left, and scold me one more sentence. "You are a real nuisance." Originally, I was going to ask him to guide me into town, but he scolded me like that, and I didn't want to ask anymore. With no other choice, I had to guess my way out of there. I'm much more careful now, so I also know how to self-consciously avoid upcoming and likely troubles along the way.  When I got to town, I looked at the clock it was already four o'clock in the afternoon, so I only had an hour to go before I had to go home to face my parents. I didn't know exactly what Sana's house where, so I went to the student council president's house and asked him to show me the way. "Please help me, I need to see Sana right now." The student council president smiled awkwardly and told me, "I don't know if Sana had anything to do with your house being vandalized but you shouldn't go to her house, it won't help you. , there could even be problems.” “How can you say that?” I couldn't believe what I just heard, how could the student council president utter such unbelievable judgments- “Okay, I'm taking the risk, could you please show me the way?" The surprise was evident on his face, then he stopped talking and led me the way. “I can only bring you here.” He pointed to the house at the end of the alley, saying: "That's Sana's house, you can go there yourself." "It's fine to be here, thank you very much." The student council president said goodbye to me and headed home, he still seemed to be holding on to his anxiety about something nameless.  Anyway, I appreciate him for taking the time to help me, that's enough, I don't hold him responsible for anything. I took the time to go inside Sana's house and knock on the door. After a while, still no one opened the door, I didn't know what to do so I looked around. The house seems quite old, there are a lot of plants growing around as if no one has moved it for a long time, especially there is a lot of moss, I can imagine this place having rained for a long time. But there is no such thing as rain for so long that moss grows, it is possible that someone regularly watered the whole yard so it was like that. The space here is quite open, and there are many trees, so it gives a gloomy feeling. And I quite like this atmosphere, although not very normal, in return it was quiet. Seeing much time had passed, I knocked on the door again, this time I knocked more and the noise was louder. The door opened and a middle-aged woman appeared, the first thing that struck me was her melancholy expression. "Hello, is this Sana's house?" She quickly adjusted her hair, then smiled and said to me: "This is Sana's house, you are her friend, right?" I felt like she was trying to smile, she looked unsightly and tired, her life wasn't good. I politely replied, "Yes, is Sana at home?" She suddenly burst into tears and I didn't understand why, so I asked, "What's wrong with you?" She kept crying, I didn't know how to comfort her, anyway it was the first time I faced someone who was crying. I can't deal with this, it makes me very uncomfortable. I was going to stand there waiting for her to finish crying and then ask permission to go home, but I heard her say: "Sana has left home, she doesn't need you anymore." She kept repeating that sentence, the more she said it, the harder she cried. But I can't solve or help her, I'm just an outsider who wants to find Sana to talk to, I don't intend to interfere with her housework. However, Sana's mother did not realize it, still crying and complaining to me. Perhaps this is the troublesome thing that the student council president warned me about, I might get entangled in Sana's private affairs. So Sana wasn't at home, but the person staying at the inn said she'd been home since morning, so where is she now? "Auntie, I know you're upset, but can you tell me if you've seen Sana today?" I'm not good at consoling people, so I ask directly for saving time. She raised her head to look at me, and for a moment I felt that her eye was not very sharp, it was a little cloudy and dark like the austerity that was ingrained in her blood. But I can still see the gentleness from her gestures and actions, even though I don't know what happened, I guess Sana's mother is good. "Sorry for making you awkward, I didn't want to, I just couldn't control my feelings." I said, "No problem, you must have been very worried, I think Sana will be home soon." She smiled a little, a smile very similar to Sana, said: "Sana came by this morning to get some things, then she left again. When can I find Sana can you let me know?" “Yes, of course.” I answered her, then asked permission to leave. So in the end I still couldn't find Sana. I didn't confirm the truth, I don't know why this happened to me myself, but I had to go home and tell my parents all about it. I guess they won't blame me, I just don't think so myself. All of this is a price to pay for my negligent discretion.
