I was walking to the cafeteria, I didn't see anyone today it's like everyone has disappeared in thin air, I walked to our usual table and found Luke he was busy typing something on his phone
"Hey, " I said and took a seat next to him
"Hey," he said still typing on his phone
"Where is everyone?" I asked confused no one I mean no one misses lunch, you should see the way they eat, they eat like pigs
"Well like every year they are planning something," he said
"What do you mean?" I asked not getting the point
"Its Jason's birthday tomorrow, so everyone is busy planning something for him, but like every year it's a total flop," he said putting his phone away
"It's his birthday tomorrow?" I asked, he didn't even tell me, we were close friends
"Yeah, " he said casually browsing through his phone
"And why is a total flop?" I asked curious, who doesn't like birthday's I certainly do
"I don't know but this is same since past 3 years, they plan something and he cancels it," he said leaning in his chair
"What happened 3 years ago?" I asked suspiciously
"I don't know, " he said and started eating his lunch
"ok," I said and did the same
The school was really boring without any of them around, even Blake was absent, I really want to know why everyone is missing and why Jason doesn't celebrate his birthday
I went home and decided that I am going to make my special world famous cake for them, so I started my work
When I was done the cake looked amazing, I made a red velvet cake with a bit chocolate on it I've made so many different shapes on it, so it looks like a cake for a teenager, not for any five years old
I was done it was almost 9 in the evening, so I decided to get ready, I'm wearing a blue sundress it's simple but looks great on me, I let me down in their natural straight way, I packed the cake in a box and went out. Grace is out of town she won't be back till tomorrow so I don't need to inform her
It's 12 am now so I knocked on their door but nothing, I knocked again but still nothing 'they must be sleeping ' I said and was about to leave, when Mrs. Johnson opened the door, she looked like, she hasn't slept for days, she had dried tear marks on her face, but as soon as she saw it was me, she wiped her tears and smiled at me
"What happened ?" I asked confused
"Oh nothing I was just watching a sad movie," she said but something was off, I had a feeling that she was lying but pushed that feeling away
"What are you doing here at this time of night?" She asked
"I am here to wish Jason and Blake happy birthday, " I said cheerfully
"Oh but I don't think he is awake, " she said looking down
"Oh! So good night then" I said disappointed taking a few steps back
"Wait," she said stopping me "Jason is in his room maybe he is awake so you can wish him," she said pointing upstairs
"First room on the left is Jason's room," she said sounding really very sad
I went where Mrs. Johnson instructed, the door was open so I went in and he was very much awake, he was standing near his window looking out of it so, I placed the cake on his bed and hugged him from behind, he was shocked but relaxed when he saw it was me
He turned around and hugged me back but tightly, I didn't pull away I felt like he needed it, soon he pulled away from me
"What are you doing here? " he asked narrowing his eyes
"Happy birthday.." I sang cheerfully
"Thanks " was his only answer, he looked out the window again
"Is Blake awake?" I asked that made him turn around
"No. he is not" he instantly went pale but I knew he was lying
"I'll see that for myself, " I said and turned around to leave his room but he caught my arm
"I don't think it's a good idea," he said seriously
"Come on it's his birthday too, and he is my friend too, so I'll just wish him ok," I said and smiled but he didn't smile back
"I still think you shouldn't go," he said and let go of my arm
"Oh come on it's not like he will throw me out or something. now chill and let the professionals handle the matter" I joked but I was the only one to laugh, I left his room and went to Blake's room the door was unlocked so I pushed it
The view in front of me was a pure horror not because there were things broken everywhere. the well-arranged room was a total mess but what shocked me more was Blake. he was sitting on the ground leaning on the wall with his eyes closed there were tears running down his cheeks, and his hand!. oh my god, his hand was bleeding
I rushed to him and sat in front of him and took his hand in mine, that's when I saw his eyes, they were bloodshot red like he is been crying all day and has not slept at all
As soon as I touched his wound, he pulled his hand away and glared at me
"What the hell are you doing here ?" He yelled at me
This is the first time I am scared of him, he is looking like he can kill
"I....I..." I was shivering
"What?" he yelled very loud this time
"I.. just... came here ...to wish you a very happy birthday " I stammered
He just pulled my arm to make me stand a little harshly
"Stay out of my life " he yelled and threw me out of his room and slammed it in my face
I didn't realize I was crying, I stood up and ran out of his house, I never want to see any of them, I never want to see him again, I will never forgive him, he is always like this with me
That night I cried, and cried and cried and eventually fell asleep
