CHAPTER 09

743 Words
KIRA'S POV:- Summer, Summer was actually my favorite season in all four seasons. Usually, I would go to different states with my friends or my boyfriend and enjoy my warm vacations with them, especially with my boyfriend, Antonio, or I should address him as my ex boyfriend. Tony and I had been dating each other since high school. Even our parents had known each other for years. We were an idol couple of our town in Brooklyn. But I guess everything has to come to an end. An ideal couple and their relationship was now over. After the airplane landed, I walked out of the airport with my luggage with me. After my breakup with Tony, I was devastated. My parents decided to send me to my grandma's house in Hawaii. I was actually a crazy lover of beaches. Summer plus beach, a perfect combo. Not just that, my parents wanted me to feel better after such a heartbreaking breakup. They knew if anyone could make me feel better in this hard time, were my crazy cousins, Roy and Riva. "Kira, over here." I heard Roy and looked around. I saw them both standing in the middle of the crowd. They both ran towards me as soon as I looked at them. Squealing crazily, Riva hugged me. Seeing their faces, I also forgot about my heartbreak and I started squealing crazily with Riva. "It has been long since you visited last. We have missed you a lot." Riva said as she broke the hug. "Yeah, but you did not come as well. I have missed you both as well." I replied with a smile. Roy grabbed my luggage as I and Riva followed him behind. He unlocked the car and threw my luggage into the trunk of the car. "Careful you dumb head. My iPad, my laptop, my jewelry and my other accessories are in my bags." I said angrily and slapped the back of his head. "Aaoo… don't break my skull woman." He replied angrily and glared at me. I blinked my eyes like an innocent woman and he chuckled seeing my puppy face. We all hopped into the car and Roy drove off. He played some songs throughout the way and we all were singing with the singer. I mean, dah.. it was Dominic Arthur's album. The recent one. In an hour or so, Roy parked the car into the garage. We all hopped out. I and Riva went into the house while Roy pulled my luggage out of the car. As soon as I entered the house, I was welcomed by the delicious smell of cheese macaroni. I knew aunt Stacy must have cooked cheese macaroni for me as she knew how much I love cheese macaroni. I ran into the kitchen and found the table was set and was waiting for me. I greeted aunt Stacy and she hugged me tightly. "Oh honey, we have missed you a lot. How are you?" She asked me in a worry laced voice. I definitely understood what she really meant. But I was not ready to talk about him. So I decided to divert the conversation to somewhere else. "I am fine, aunt Stacy. But I am really hungry right now. I have missed your cheese macaroni in Brooklyn. No one can make it like you do." I said and patted my stomach. As if my stomach had a brain and it understood what I wanted to say, it growled loudly. Everyone looked at each other then back at me. Riva and I started laughing hysterically and Aunt Stacy joined us as well. I quickly washed my hands and took my seat. Aunt served me first and I started digging in without caring for anyone. When my tummy was full I leaned back on my seat and looked at my cousins. Roy released a loud burp and I followed behind. Soon all three of us started a burp challenge and laughed hysterically. It felt good to be with Roy and Riva. They were like my siblings and I loved them a lot. My luggage was already in my bedroom. Yes, my bedroom. It was my grandma's house. She lived with my uncle Nathan and Aunt Stacy. But still I had a room in their house. Just like Riva and Roy had rooms in my house. Whenever they visited us, they used to stay in their own bedrooms. Not into the guest rooms.
