Azula
She sat by the window, the pale moon filtering in through the paneled glass highlighting different features. Dark midnight blue hair that seemed nearly black cascaded around her like a waterfall of darkness, darkness in which one found themselves wanting to get lost in. Her blue eyes gazed up into the sky, the moon was full and yet the sky seemed darkened, for the light of the moon seemed to always outshine the subtle but intriguing beauty of the stars, but without those stars dancing across the night sky it nearly seemed dull. The prophecy echoing in her mind like a broken record on repeat, echoing within her soul never letting up imprint it’s impact on her life, the way it always had.. the way it always will.
Two who wear nature's mark will rise, children of magic long forgotten born to unite.
When what is red turns blue, two brothers shall bring forth the death of millions, a broken heart will then soon summon an age of fury and monsters.
It shall be then when ash rains from the sky and the moon turn’s blue, wolves will howl together devoured by flames and this shall cause the toppling of guilty leaders
The ceremonial dress she wore clung to her figure, a simple silver dress with a velvet-like texture contrasted her features beautifully, its sleeves long and elegant the small band at the end of the sleeve fitted perfectly about her middle finger creating a beautiful sleeved hand. It flared lovingly about her hips and draped to the floor, simple yet beautiful, much like the stars she was enthralled by. It was rare that she allowed herself to slip into such a defenseless state, but the opening of the door finally brought her gaze from the window her mother’s voice nearly sounded worried
“Azula! I was worried sick! Hurry now, we mustn’t be late.” She offered her mother a gentle smile rising to take her hand.
“Mother please,” she uttered gently patting the woman’s hand “we have all night” she cooed adoringly to the woman who raised her. “Yes, yes I know but everyone is waiting” Ah yes, the one who was supposed to be her counterpart was supposed to arrive as well.
Though she heard from the grapevine that the man wasn’t pleased, she hadn’t met him; the council had decided against such a thing to try and keep the prophecy from coming into fruition prematurely before her first shift. It was agreed upon that the night she got her wolf was the night they would meet. “I apologize for keeping everyone waiting,” she murmured finally taking a soft breath standing as her mother looped her arm through hers.
“Are you nervous dear?” She glanced at her mother as she spoke “No, I'm quite ready, perhaps once this is over I could finally find my mate.”
“Well of course darling no one would keep that from you.” Her mother commented softly kissing her cheek “and you would even get to come back home afterward” if she lived, but she said no such thing out loud, only offering a small smile as they stepped outside.
Two packs were here tonight her own, and though she was a simply Omega her pack still dipped their heads in respect, she smiled doing the same as her eyes finally moved to the other side of the small moonlit clearing. Giving the new pack Curious glances but freezing when she noticed him… the Alpha standing at the forefront of them all.
He stood at 6’5 with tanned features, dark freckles could be seen splashed across the bridge of his nose. He had his golden eyes focused solely on her despite the woman who hung off his arm though honestly, it was his messy fiery red hair that intrigued her the most. Moving from his well-shaped face downwards to his chest that looked strained in the tight-fitting shirt he wore, going further down as she took all of him in.
Most Alphas she had known was dark and brooding... but he was like the sun, shining even in the dark. He was the one she was supposed to be connected with, so why was he looking at her with so much disdain and why was she drawn like a moth to a flame, when in fact previously she thought she had been the flame. Her mother released her arm as she was now allowed to move into the center of the clearing on her own. Her alpha spoke over the crowd with a loud voice, “As many of you are aware this night is indeed a special one. The she-wolf that was depicted in the prophecy had now turned 18, it’s her first shift!!”
The people roared their excitements, though she kept her placid expression despite the own racing of her heart. The beating in her ears reminded her that of war drums the relentless beat that always meant death would follow.
“Though born an omega she has shown all traits and qualities of an Alpha! Surrounded by grace and blue flames, we now present! AZULA!”
She smiled brightly stepping forward having been taught how to present herself allowing the new pack to get a look at her since she will be residing with them. His gaze swept over her, warming her body as if a million suns were fit into one galaxy. The moon took its place over the sky as blue flames found her fingertips.
Eyes closed; she tilted her head back allowing her body to be engulfed in the magic that she called upon so easily. A magic that was supposed to have left when the dragons did. Her thoughts now interrupted by the cracking of bones, pain, so much pain and yet she couldn’t scream, overwhelmed by it as her breathing became labored.
Groaning as she connected with the soft grass, an eerie silence having set out over the crowd, her delicate hands gripping at the dirt and grass until they were moved, taken by warm calloused hands, looking up to catch the sight of beautiful golden eyes. It was him, why was he helping her… but as the shift finally completed and her dark midnight blue nearly black wolf stood to her full height, piercing blue gaze now looking upon the man who seemed slightly shocked as he said one word, her wolf saying it with unison with him. “Mate.” Her wolf’s gentle voice filling her head
“Im Seraphina, it’s an honor to finally meet you Azula, as much as it’s an honor to meet our beloved mate.”
There wasn’t much she could do or say as she was in wolf form
“You have such a beautiful name” though before her wolf could respond, the man pulled away harshly. A soft whimper escaping her, was he rejecting her?
