Moana
*
My legs halted when I smelt s*x and sweat from the direction where Chris was. I realized what he was doing. Not that I was upset about that. He never claimed to love me. He asked me to have fun, and I declined that offer, so he was free to pick another she-wolf with whom he could f**k and have fun.
‘Really, is this what I want from my life?' I scolded myself and changed my direction. Lotus already hates me for what I did in the past.
By behaving like a w***e, she would hate me more than she already did. After all, any wolf, whether male or female, would like to mate either with their mate or with someone they truly like and desire.
"Mo!!" I stopped when I heard Chris’s voice. I turned around, raising my eyebrow.
"I guess you were here to talk to me." He said it with a wide smile on his face and by running his fingers through his hair. I narrowed my eyes when I saw him fresh. The smell of s*x or sweat wasn’t coming from him.
"Yeah! I thought you were busy." I said.
"I wasn’t." He responded. "But I guess, I can sense it coming from where it is coming," Chris said before explaining, "Actually, Jake invited me to the threesome with Joyce. So, the smell of s*x wasn’t mine, actually."
I didn’t feel anything like surprise, shock, happiness, or sadness. Because it really didn’t matter to me to whomever he f****d.
"So, what are you doing here then? You should be with Joyce and Jake." I asked rudely. To be honest, I wasn’t being rude; my tone was rough, which is why most of the time people assumed that I was arguing when I was just simply talking.
"No. I’m not interested. At least not now," he responded, walking close to me. "So, you tell me, why were you here?" He asked. I could tell that he had an idea why I was there and wanted to hear that answer from my mouth.
But that was not happening.
"If you are going to act innocent, then I’m leaving," I said, to which he chuckled.
"Feisty as always." He said, shaking his head. "So, does your arrival mean yes?" He asked hopefully.
‘Lotus, would you mind if I had it with him?' I asked my wolf and received nothing but silence. To be honest, I was getting irked by her behavior. Well, not just her, but I was getting irritated by his behavior as well.
‘Fine! If you have to do nothing with me, then I also don’t care.' I shouted at her before looking at Chris.
"Maybe," I responded, shrugging my shoulders, and all of a sudden I sensed Alaric around. That leech had the power to mask the scent. For some reason, I could still sense him sometimes. Yes, sometimes. I hated the smell of vampires, but at the same time, I didn’t hate his very faint, alluring scent that I could sense only when he used to stay really close to me or when he himself let out his scent to let others know of his presence.
I wouldn’t lie, but for a while, I thought that he was my mate, but then I mentally laughed at that thought because that wasn’t possible. Moreover, Lotus never confirmed the same.
‘That’s because I don’t know.' She replied in a low tone. ‘All I know is that vampires have the power to turn off all emotions like a dead person, including the signs that they are dating." I don’t know whether he is using that power or I’m just confused.' She added her irritation.
‘Why didn’t you tell me about it? I would have grabbed him by his neck and forced him to speak the truth.' I said.
‘As if he would have admitted.' Lotus scoffed. ‘Moreover, I don’t want him to be my mate because I know that you will go straight to him and reject him as you hate vampires. So, it shouldn’t matter, right?' She made a point that I couldn’t deny.
"Mo?" Chris shook my shoulder. "Done talking with your wolf? I hope she didn’t mind us together." He asked.
"It’s my body, and I can do whatever I want," I said, making sure that Alaric would listen to this conversation. "Now, kiss me," I demanded when his face came into my view. I wanted to show him that, just like him, I had moved on in my life.
"Gladly!!" Christ wrapped his hand around my waist. I smirked a little before his warm lips touched mine. He kissed me hungrily, knowing that I was not good at kissing. I started regretting kissing him immediately because he wasn’t being patient with me like Alaric was.
His lips weren’t cold like a dead person's.
Most importantly, he wasn’t Alaric.
I wasn’t enjoying the kiss at all, but the fact that he was watching me boosted my ego, and I tried to kiss Chris back and ended up biting his lips. He pulled himself away and looked at me in amusement. I swore to kick his ass if he dared to make fun of me.
"Between the trees or in the room?" He asked next. I had kept my expression masked, but I was taken aback by the speed he was moving. I wouldn’t lie; I was scared too. This was my first time. I wasn’t sure whether I was doing this right or not.
"In my room," I replied. Not that I mind getting f****d by him outside. It was common among werewolves, but I was taking him to the room just to turn him down. I wanted to show this to Alaric. I couldn’t believe how everything was related to just showing him this and showing him that.
I wondered whether he was a wizard instead of a vampire.
Because it looked like he had done some magic, I couldn’t see or think beyond him from the moment he walked into my life.
"I can wait." Chris grinned.
"Same!!" I replied with a fake smile. Damn, I wondered how Tiara could act so perfectly. I was having a hard time, showing a fake smile to Chris, more like to Alaric.
*
The moment I locked the door, Chris jumped on me like a beast, kissing me roughly. I placed my hand on his chest and pushed him a little instead of throwing him away.
"I can’t," I said in a low tone, shaking my head. I was glad that Chris understood that and didn’t push me for it. We both grew up together, knowing each other since we were pups. We used to be friends, even when my obsession with Theodore started growing and he started hating me for it.
"You’re still not over your obsession with Theodore?" He asked calmly, to which I shook my head.
"No. That’s not the case." I replied. "He is my sister’s mate. That sister who gave a new life to me." I added. Moreover, I realized a long time ago that there was no way Theodore could be mine, even if I had killed Liara.
"Thank Moon Goddess!!" Chris sighed in relief, stepping away from her and sitting on her bed. "I’m glad that you stood up for Doctor Wayne’s trust because not a single person wanted to give you a second chance except for her. To be honest, everyone was waiting for months for your evil move."
I chuckled at his words.
"So, why did you say no?" What is stopping you?" He asked
"Because someone once said that I was worth more than one night's sleep." That’s why I’m not going to lose my V card for fun."
"Whether that someone is male or female?" Chris asked, raising his eyebrow. I knew I couldn’t tell him the truth.
"Do you think that any man can say that to me?" I asked, c*****g my eyebrow.
"Let me guess. I’m sure that must be Dr. Wayne. Only she can say such loving words." Chris guessed on his own, and I faked a smile again. "Do you know, after listening to that line from you, what exactly I feel?"
"What?"
"I can’t help myself from respecting you, Mo. And I won’t be surprised if I fall in love with this new Moana."
"Oh, please..." I scoffed.
"I’m serious about it, Mo. I used to like you once. When you were bitchy but not evil." Chris said it in a serious tone, making my heart thud. This was the first official proposal of my life. "I never told you about it because we both wanted to find our mate first. So, I was...
"Chris, you’re still twenty-one. Male wolves can find their mate until they are twenty-eight. As for now, who knows? Your partner might not even be eighteen yet. You shouldn’t rush because Moon Goddess had a habit of keeping an age difference of a maximum of ten years." Hearing this, Chris groaned. He knew I was right about that part.
"You’re right. The last thing I want to do is get stuck between two women. And there is a big chance that my wolf will choose my fated mate over the one I have chosen. That’s what every wolf does." Chris said, to which I nodded my head. "Your cousin and c*m brother, Alpha Calvin, has chosen a mate. Do you think that he will be able to reject his fate when she appears in his life?"
"I don’t entertain gossip, Chris," I said sternly because I knew this was the talk of the town. In 99.99% of cases, werewolves ended up leaving their chosen mate for their fated mate. But if my brother were to do this, then he might end up losing his family.
His fated mate would cost him everything that he loved and cherished all his years.
At the same time, I sensed Dad’s scent near my room. Before I would have opened the door, he started banging loudly like a maniac.
What the hell?
I unlocked the door and pushing me aside, he attacked Chris, shocking me and Chris as well.
"Daddd…." I cried, pulling him away from Chris. I sensed Mom entering my room as well, but I didn’t get a chance to ask what was happening because I had to protect Chris, whom my dad was hitting for no reason.
I grabbed Dad by his waist and threw him away. His body hit the wall while I stood between him and Chris.
If he was an alpha, then I was no less. The only difference was that he was old and experienced, while I was young and inexperienced compared to him.
"Lock the door, Mom," I said that because I didn’t want this to become the hot topic of the council.
"I trusted you, Chris," Dad growled in anger.
"Can we f*****g talk directly?" I growled at him in anger.
"What is there to say?" I can smell his scent on you and your scent on this traitor." Dad growled and glared at Chris. If looks could kill, then he would have been dead by now. "How dare you think that my daughter is some toy with whom you can have fun?" He asked angrily to Chris.
Now I understand why he was so enraged.
But the question was, How did he know?
"Dad, nothing like that happened."
"Of course, I f*****g know that nothing happened except for the kiss because you two didn’t get time for that." I scoffed at his words. Only if he knew that we had enough time to have s*x, but then, this wasn't the time to argue with me about that part because I knew he wouldn’t trust me.
"Chris, can you please leave? I have to talk with Dad." I said without looking at him, at which point he started leaving.
"This is not over, Chris. I will kick your asses in tomorrow’s training." Dad threatened him as a bad boy, threatening an innocent boy to meet him after school.
Seriously?
What was my dad doing now? My bodyguard.
Or what was my age? Five.
Once Chris left, I spoke, "Dad, things aren’t going the way you are thinking."
"Don’t you dare lie to me, Mo. He clearly mentioned having fun with you. What does he think my daughter is? And I can’t believe that you agreed to it. What the hell were you thinking? Are you out of your mind?" He growled at me, making me flinch. "I have been asking you to choose someone as your mate or say yes to the proposal that you have received recently from Alphas of a well-known pack, but no, you don’t want to settle down."
"This... is what you want to do with your life? Play and have fun. What are you? A pup of five years old."
"Ambrose!!" Mom tried to calm him down, but I doubted it was going to work.
"Don’t calm me down. Give some sense to your daughter. First, she was lusting for Theodore for years, and now this."
"It’s your mistake that you've got some expectations from me," I growled at him in anger.
"See... how is she talking to me? Name one thing I could be proud of her for. She spends so much time with Lee but hasn’t learned a thing from her."
"I’m not Lee." I hissed in anger.
"Of course, you’re not. The hell will freeze if she-devil becomes a saint." I glared at him at the compliment.
"You wouldn’t have been this mad at me if I had been a boy instead of a girl," I argued with him back.
"Don’t you dare use boy and girl things in this conversation?"
"Why not? I bet you wouldn’t have minded if all your sons would have been alive and would have been screwing around like a manwhore." I shouted at him.
"Maybe I wouldn’t have," Dad admitted clearly. "Because right now, you won't understand a father’s protective behavior towards his daughter." Dad responded before continuing, "Because you won't understand that the moment a father holds his son in his arms, he is ready to die for that little guy whom he recently met, but the moment a father holds his daughter in his arms, he knows that he is ready to kill anyone for that little angel."
All my anger vanished in the air upon hearing Dad’s words. Of course, I wouldn’t understand that now, or maybe never, because I could never become a father any day in the future.
I looked at the old man in front of me. He was mad at me because he loved me.
"Whether you like it or not, you don’t have the option of playing around. If you’re interested in someone, then let me know, or I will fix your marriage with any Alpha with whom you can settle down forever." Dad gave an ultimatum without listening to my side of the story that Chris and I weren't going to f**k each other.
"If not for Alaric, I would never have known what was happening behind my back," Dad said, shaking his head. It was more like he was talking to himself.
But hearing his words, I exploded in anger.
Alaric.
So, he was behind all this. Because of him, Dad scolded me to this extent.
‘I’m going to kill that leech.' I thought mentally and started waiting for my parents to leave my room so that I could go and deal with him.
'You’re so dead.'
