"Not again." I shook my head in disapproval at my father’s words. Alpha Ambrose Wayne, her father just told her that Alaric and his friends would be here again by the time Theodore and Liara would be back from their honeymoon or familymoon, whatever it is called, because this time, they were going on a familymoon with both their boys.
They got married again yesterday, on their third anniversary.
"You don’t agree with any of my decisions, do you?" Ambrose asked in a disappointed tone because he had no idea what he should do with his daughter.
"Because I think you don’t make any right decisions." I don’t get it—why in the hell do you always invite that blood-sucking leech and his friends to the council for protection? Do you think we werewolves are weak? I get that without Theo and Lee, the security of this place will be a little bit weak, but don’t we know how to survive in case of any attack?" I asked in anger. I was having a hard time trying to understand why I was actually mad.
The fact that Dad had called someone else out to the council for security?
or the fact that someone was Alaric.
The vampire was the one who first asked me for a one-night stand, and I said yes to him. He canceled that deal between us by telling me that ‘I’m worth more than a one-night stand.’
What the hell was he thinking?
Or did he keep some bets about this with someone?
"Mo, we can surely protect ourselves, but we also have to keep other people’s safety in mind." My mom, Edolie Wayne, tried to explain.
"We can ask Calvin to send his best warriors. Why a vampire?"
"Calvin has recently become the father of six pups. Since he is busy with father duty, his beta and gamma are handling his pack. So, even he can’t send his best warriors without any leader." Dad explained. "I know you’re not fond of vampires, and even I wasn’t until I met Alaric. He is a great guy."
Great guy, my foot!
"I should go and do some work instead of arguing with you because we can never agree on something," I grumbled before leaving his office. Yes, he now had an office of his own. It was a bit awkward in the beginning, after all, we were all rogues, but then, an office was important for keeping all the important papers and files.
I started feeling guilty for arguing with Dad, but then no one could blame me for that. Whenever I hear that blood-sucking leech’s name, I just lose my mind. To calm myself down, I thought to visit Liara, who would be leaving tonight.
"Bad mood again?" She asked the moment her eyes landed on me.
"Umm yeah!! "Got into an argument with Dad."
"I doubt that’s the true reason." She pointed out that she was reading the files of her patients and trying her best to finish her work as much as possible.
Damn, I hated how she could read anyone by looking at their face.
"It’s Alaric, isn’t it? Because your bad mood always has something to do with him." She said, to which I glared at her.
"Keep that to yourself. I don’t want others to sense this at all." I warned her, during which she signaled to zip her mouth and release her aura or power—whatever she had a habit of doing to calm people down—and it worked. All of a sudden, I don’t feel angry anymore.
"You can talk to me." "What is bothering you?"
"Rejection," I responded, knowing she was a good listener. "That too, three times in a row. I seriously don’t know what is wrong with me." I asked myself and tried my best not to cry. First, my fated mate, Andrew Hall, rejected me because I was a rogue. Then I thought to choose Theodore as my chosen mate, but he again rejected my advance.
‘Yes, you read it right—the same Theodore who is Liara’s mate. Only a saint like her can have no problem with me, even after knowing that I almost killed her to claim Theo.’
And the third and worst one was Alaric because Andrew and Theodore never raised my hope; they never wanted me from day one, but that leech first showed interest in me, then he just shattered my hope.
I felt humiliated and angry.
Liara spoke calmly. "There is nothing wrong with you, Mo. Trust me on it. Special things always take more time than ordinary ones. I know there is someone who will truly love you. He will see what a mess you can be, how moody you can get, and how hard you can be to handle, but he will want you."
"Yeah. I believe you; after all, you’re a goddess. Still, I wonder when."
"You’re just twenty. Enjoy your life."
"Next month I’m turning twenty-one."
"Still. Just twenty-one." Liara winked at her. "By the way, start working on yourself because Steve was saying that in the next six months, our council will finally be called the Silver Moon Pack?"
"I didn’t hear anything like that from Dad yet."
"He will be getting an official letter soon. Once this is announced, the werewolf king will keep a close eye on our council for at least six months before finally giving us the green light." Liara explained.
"In these six months, we rogues will have all the privileges of the pack, like we won’t be smelling like rotten food anymore and will be allowed to attend the mating ball." Liara kept explaining because she had a vast amount of knowledge about everything.
Hearing all this, did I feel happy?
Nope. Nothing.
But at least, other pack members wouldn’t treat rogues like us differently or like a plague. A lot of werewolves around her would be saved from rejection; after all, no one wanted Rogue as their mate.
"And who knows, you might find your second chance mate in the mating ball?"
"That alone thought is so scary. Even though I won’t show it, I’m scared to get rejected for the fourth time."
"Then start loving yourself, little sister." Liara tapped my cheek lovingly. "Sometimes you have to help yourself instead of waiting for any knight in shining armor."
"Hmm"

"Get up!! Your evening nap is over." I said, slapping the buttocks of both of my boys lightly. Griffin started crying loudly as if I would have whooped his ass.
Drama queen!!
While Eleazer whined and covered his face with a pillow.
"Get up, El! We have to leave at night." I muttered, getting annoyed by watching his attitude. "And you.." I looked at Griffin, who stopped crying to listen to what I was going to say. "Do you know anything except crying, drinking milk, and sleeping all the time?"
Griffin started crying loudly at this insult.
‘Damn!’ I hissed. Grabbed Griffin with one hand, I picked up Eleazer with another.
"Dadddd," Eleazer whined because he loved sleeping during the day and exploring the sky in the form of a bat at night.
"Cry or whine for one more time, and I swear I will throw you both from the first floor." I threatened them and found Alaric laughing at my state. "When the f**k did you come?"
"Just a moment before." Alaric responded before adding, "Enjoying your fatherhood, don’t you?"
"Yeah! Lia is busy with hospital work." With that, I placed them on the kitchen counter. "Stay quiet, both of you. Griff, I’m preparing milk for you and El, fresh deer blood for you."
"Why not human blood? It’s tasty." Eleazer asked, licking his lips.
"So that you will be habitually drinking both types of blood," I responded, to which he narrowed his eyes. I turned around to get milk for Griffin and spoke to Alaric, "You came early to see her." I pointed out.
"It’s not like that."
"Yeah!! That’s why you were eyefucking her last night."
"Can you blame me? She was looking so sexy that a lot of unmated werewolves were staring at her. What do you think? Sky blue suits her, right?" Alaric asked. All of a sudden, my body stiffened when I sensed something.
I swiftly turned around and caught the knife that Eleazer threw in my direction.
"Wow, I’m impressed, Dad." He said it with an evil smirk. "Now, watch this." With that, he started throwing all the knives in the knife stand, one by one, at full speed.
Fuck!
He looked like a tiny little human but had the power of an adult vampire. One by one, I caught all the knives without getting hurt at full speed.
"Bravo!! I’m proud to call you my dad." Eleazer said, clapping his hands.
"You…" Keeping all the knives at my side, I was about to s***k him when he cut me.
"Watch out, Griff just jumped from the counter. Yeee!! Go ahead, big brother. And now he is going to hit his head on the.... ." Before Eleazer’s commentary could have finished, I grabbed Griffin, who just grinned, showing me his toothless smile. "damnn... his head didn't hit the ground."
My heart pounded loudly against my ribcage because of fear.
"Dadddyyyyy… catch!!" Eleazer shouted and jumped from the counter. I was about to hold him when Eleazer shifted into his bat form and started flying.
"El, we are going outside for a vacation. Fly as much as you can, but you can’t do all this in the human world."
"Why, not? Vampires can erase and manipulate anyone’s mind." Eleazer spoke, shifting back to his human form.
"Fine!! Tell the same to your mother." I used Liara’s name, knowing very well that he only listened to anyone until and unless Liara’s name was mentioned.
I made sure that this time, my 100 percent attention would be on my boys, but from time to time, I didn’t miss how Alaric was looking outside. I looked outside and watched Moana talking with Chris, the future beta of this pack, and Alaric’s eyes were on them.
"Do you love her?" I asked directly. I had asked him to stay away from her around three and a half months before, thinking he was playing with her. Not a big thing for him after all; that was what he had done all his life. I didn’t want to mess up my relationship with Moana’s father because of his stupidity.
"You know me, right? I have always loved only one person in my life, my wife. Others are just time passing." Alaric said with a smile.
I couldn’t smell whether he was lying or telling the truth because that fucker had the ability to mask the scent. Now that he had become the Elder of his coven, his powers had been increased. Not sure what exactly.
"Then stay away from her, Al, because it looks like you’re not able to get over the little attraction that you have for Moana even after months," I warned him. I knew Alaric from the moment he was turned into a vampire. This was unlike him. He was the kind of person who would have slept with thousands of women by now but never had any feelings for them.
But this one wolf had definitely left some effect on him.
‘Maybe because he hasn’t tasted her yet. Maybe he will be over this attraction once... you know.' Inigo, my Lycan tried to put 2x2, but only Alaric knew the truth behind all this.
It wasn't that I didn’t try to know the truth, but the fact that the fucker had become elder and I couldn’t read his mind.
Eleazer reached where Alaric was and looked at Moana.
"So, you’re eyefucking again?" He asked, widening my and Alaric’s eyes. This pup would definitely get my butt kicked by my mate.
