The only time I was ever truly alone was at night. I now did manage to sleep on the bed, I had gotten used to it whenever I slept in Aris’ before our fight, but no handmaidens or servants slept in the room with me. Catalina and Alyssa slept in the room adjacent to mine, but luckily for me, Alyssa was a snorer.  I rested my pillow against the headboard and sat up. I couldn’t sleep, I simply wasn’t tired. I could say anything to my handmaidens and servants but I didn’t want them to see me upset. Whenever my bad mood pushed it too far, they softly reminded me of their loyalty to Aris over me.
