Adam had been through Forbes Park before. In fact, he’d been to the enclave twice: at last year’s embassy Christmas party, and at an Easter party earlier in the year. Those were official functions where he appeared in uniform. He wasn’t surprised that Jojo and his family lived in the same gated community as the U.S. ambassador and other diplomats. Pete had told him that Jojo and his family probably lived in one of the exclusive villages of Makati: Urdaneta, Dasmarinas, Greenhills, Magallanes, San Lorenzo, or Forbes Park. When they came off Flame Tree Road, into McKinley, any doubts that Adam had that Jojo’s family lived in the Beverly Hills of the Philippines, melted away as they traveled up tree-lined streets with perfect homes.
