Honorable man. Manning was going to be sick. Was Jacobs still alive? Diamond hadn’t asked for anything, he hadn’t called to give his demands. No, he’d only called to inform them he had Jacobs. With Pena, they hadn’t gotten any information at all. Why did Diamond bother to get in touch now?

He grabbed the folder with the photos on the crime scene where they’d found Pena and strode back to his office. Detective Sergeant Ferguson gave him a questioning look that he answered with a shrug.
