They went through question after question, but at some point during the trip, Charlotte dozed off. She only woke up when they were taking the exit into Portland, which unfortunately meant their time together was coming to a close. The anger that she had felt towards him that very morning had waned as they talked to the point that Charlotte was almost ready to forgive him. It was almost pathetic how quickly Liam had managed to worm himself back into her good graces.
“You’re awake,” Liam noted, sounding amused as she lifted her head from where it had been resting against the window.
“I’m awake,” she agreed in a croaky voice.
“Probably a good thing since I have no idea where I need to go now,” Liam told her, sending a questioning glance her way.
“Oh, right,” Charlotte said, sitting up
