It was the fifth song that really got to Charlotte. They had been sitting in silence through song after song, but she couldn’t hold in her laughter as Cher’s ‘Turn Back Time’ blared from the speaker’s of Liam’s car. The song was just so… well, so not Liam.
“What’s so funny?” Liam asked, glancing over at her like she was a crazy person.
“Cher? Really?” Charlotte asked through her chuckles.
“What? This is my jam,” he replied, bobbing his head along to the music and only succeeding in making Charlotte laugh harder.
“This is not your jam,” she replied.
“And how would you know?” Liam asked with raised eyebrows. “I could be a Cher enthusiast for all you know.”
“I guess I wouldn’t know,” Charlotte said softly, her laughter dying with the revelation that she didn’t know her mate at all.
