I was looking forward to going to the amusement park on Saturday. Even hanging out with David, Skia growled in my head.
“I know he isn’t our mate,” I replied. “I like him as a friend. He is funny and keeps my mind away from Blaine, at least for a bit.”
“I don’t understand why I can’t reach Blaine’s wolf,” Skia said.
“It might have something to do with him not knowing he is our mate?”
“Maybe. Every time I reach out though the mate bond it is like I am blocked. If only we could mate for real, then there would be no doubt.”
“SKIA! That will not happen. At least not right now. Valerie is dating him or did you forget?”
“No. I did not. I don’t get it. It is like he feels a mate bond to her.”
I opened my eyes to see myself staring in the mirror. The mate issue has caused a bit of a rift
