Chapter Five

Next day

I wake up to my phone ringing, I just pick it without looking at the caller.

"As-Salam Aleikum," I said with my eyes still closed.

"Hi Yasmin I am Alexander," He said I quickly sit up in my bed.

"Hello…..Hi….Good morning" I said.

"Good afternoon, are you still sleeping? I am sorry for disturbing you" Looking at the time and it is almost 1 pm.

"No problem," I said walking toward the bathroom to freshen up.

"I text the address to you since then I did not see your reply that is why I decided to call you"

"Oh… I am sorry I will check it now and reply to you" I said and we hang up.

Wow, I slept for a long time, this is almost 1 pm, I check his text message and see the venue address and reply him and I prepare to meet him, I went to the living room and find Lin also coming out from her room just wake up from the look on her face, we greet each other and both head to the kitchen to prepare breakfastlunch for ourselves. After we finish eating I told her that Alexander has sent me the address and she said she will be the one to dress me up, she follows to my room, I went to the bathroom to take shower while she tries to check the cloth I will wear, I wear a nice dress and with pair of heel sandal not too high, she insists that she will be the one to do my make-up, not the powder and lip gloss that I use but she promise that she will not do it too much. When it is time Lin gave me a hug and I exit the house and take a taxi and tell him the address of the restaurant that I was going to.

When I get to the restaurant, a waiter get to my side and ask me if I have a reservation and I said yes, so she ask for his name and I told her but she looks at my face as if I did not know what I am saying, she asks me if I am Yasmin and I said yes and she looks at me from my head till my toes as if I am not a human being and she whispered to her friend beside her but I hear what she said but I decide to ignore them.

She directs me to be a table, he was already seated as soon as he saw me he stands up and meet me halfway and pull a chair for me to sit, I said thanks then I have my sit.

"Hi" he said looking at me.

"Hi" I replied with a little smile on my face

"So how are you?" He asked looking at me

"I am good and you?" I said

"I am fine and thank you for coming," He said still looking at me

We sit there just staring at each other and I feel shy and look down, he said my name and I look at his face.

"Let's order some food first," He said and gave me the menu

I collect it and all the price in the menu make the feel a little bit dizzy, I don't think I can afford it, I think he saw me so he said I should not worry that the bill is on him but I can't eat that kind of food with that price, so I order only juice and he insists I should eat but I told him that I already eat at home since I wake up not a long ago, he said ok and he orders some food he said he has not eaten because he wants to eat with me, I don't know maybe I should feel happy or sad so I just don't want to be as if I did not appreciate him waiting for me and I order some food with the lowest price and water.

After the food we sit without saying nothing and look at each other then he speaks.

"Did you want anything more?" He asked me

"No thank you, I am good" I am sipping on my water slowly just to find something to do.

"Yasmin, I don't know what attracts me to you so I want to know more about you, I want us to be together" I am still sipping on my water so what he is saying does not sink into my brain very well until he said the next statement "I want to be there for you," he said looking at me as if he is expecting a reply or answer

"Ok," I said

"Yasmin ….. I ....… I mean …… I want us to be dating, I want you to be my girlfriend" As soon as he said that I chocked on my water and spit the one in my mouth mistakenly and it fell on the table, I quickly use tissue paper to clean it and he came beside me and give me another cup of water and he rubs on my back and I shift on my seat and he removes his hand but I won't lie I feel something I never feel before when my exes touch me.

"I am sorry, are you ok?" I nod my head positively "I am sorry if what I said shock you but I just don't want to beat around the bush and say what is on my mind to you," He said and I just sit there looking at him and I did not say anything.

"I can give you some time to reply to me I am not expecting your reply now," He said

"What if I said no what will you do?" I said and he just looks at me

"Please I don't want to take no for an answer, I want a positive reply from you before I go back to Italy, I don't want to go back with a broken heart and you are the only one that can do that," He said

"I also don't like beating around the bush, we are two different people, there are so many things that make us be different from each other, so I don't think I can do that," I said sadly, but I don't know what makes me sad as if I am expecting something and I did not get the things, that is how I am feeling.

"Don't you believe in people that say opposite attracts" He looks at me and expects me to reply but I am short of words.
