"Do you ever wonder why you haven't found your mate yet?" I asked. "Isn't it questionable? I mean Noah found his mate.."
"I don't know, Cora," he said distractedly. "Not everyone has to have their fated. And frankly..."
"Frankly?" I prompted.
"Frankly, I am starting to feel that maybe the entire notion could be...exaggerated," he said quietly.
"I...I don't understand," I mumbled, absolutely not expecting that. His desperation to find a mate that I witnessed at the coffee shop a month ago seemed to have disappeared.
"I need to figure some stuff out and hopefully I will have my answers by that time and can explain it to you," he said, sounding determined. I stared blankly at me and I couldn't help but wonder what that was even supposed to mean.
