Alena
I have not stopped smiling for the last two days. I was still trying to get my head around that Ryker, and I was engaged. I had no clue he was planning to it, not right now. Everyone was over-the-moon for us, everyone from the team to the fans to family and friends. I was on cloud nine if you like. Ryker promised we would come back to Paris, exactly a year after our engagement to celebrate, and I couldn’t wait.
But as of right now, we were on a six-hour drive from Paris to Amsterdam for the next part of the tour. He had three nights there, and we also had a day off in between which was a bonus.
I was sitting have a lemon tea and reading, enjoying the peace. Ryker and the others were all in bed. I couldn’t get to sleep even though it was after one a.m. I did try but failed.
“Babe, what are you doing still awake?” I hear.
I looked up to see Ryker standing there, in his joggers. His hair was a mess, and he looked tired. He made his way over to me, sitting down next to me.
“You should be sleeping, gorgeous,” He said.
“I couldn’t sleep,” I pouted, “What are you doing awake?” I added.
“I woke, you weren’t there, and I came to find you,” He said, slipping his arm around me, and kissing the top of my head.
“Sorry, my love,” I said, looking up at him.
“It is alright, we can snuggle here for a bit,” He said, “You get back to your book,” He added.
I rested my head on his shoulder, getting back to my book. He was messing around with his phone, his fingers typing at full speed.
“What are you doing? Writing your own book?” I giggled.
“No, writing a new song,” He chuckled.
“About?” I asked, trying to look at it.
He held the phone to his chest, hiding it from me. I pouted at him.
“You will hear it when it is finished,” He smiled, “It is for you,” He added, smiling widely.
“For me?” I asked softly.
“Yes, inspired by you, for you,” He said.
“Aww, how sweet,” I gushed at him, “Does that mean I will be first to hear it?” I added, batting my lashes at him.
He laughed, kissing me for a moment and then pulled away.
“Maybe, or I may perform it on the last day of the tour,” He smiled.
“It is your song, baby boy, so whatever you want,” I said, kissing his cheek.
I got back to my book and let him get back to his writing. I wanted to sneak-a-peek, but I decide not to because he asked me not too. I snuggled in closer to him.
The only sounds filling the bus was our breathing, his fingers against the keys and me turning pages. It was perfect, really.
“Can I ask you something, sweetheart?” He asked, “You don’t need to answer though,” He added.
I closed my book over, sitting it down and turned to him. I smiled and nodded.
“When do you want to get married? Or am I asking that question too soon?” He asked, tucking the hair behind my ear.
I thought about it for a moment. I have not had a chance to think about it because I was still getting my head around that we were engaged.
“Um, maybe in a year or so,” I said, “That gives us time to plan after the tour,” I added.
“Sounds perfect,” He smiled, kissing me, “Do you want a big wedding?” He added.
“Not over the top big, something simple and beautiful,” I said.
“Yes, I like the sound of that,” He said, kissing my forehead.
I wouldn’t want a big wedding, mainly because Ryker doesn’t have a family, well not a biological one, and I think something too big would be too much for him. I want the day to be great for us both.
“Me too, I wouldn’t mind how we got married, as long as we get married,” I said softly.
I would elope if he asked me too, but I do not think that would make everyone happy. I know it isn’t about them, it is about us, but I would hate myself for taking the opportunity away from them.
“Same, my love,” He said, “Now will you please come back to bed, and try and get some sleep. We will be there in about four hours,” He added.
“Fine, I will try, but no promises,” I giggled.
I was beginning to tired, so hopefully, I would be able to sleep. Ryker pulled away from me, getting to his feet, and offering me his hand. I slipped mine into his, and he pulled me up and pulling me into him. He pulled me close to his chest, pressing his lips to mine in a sweet kiss. I moaned softly, but he pulled away the moment I did.
“Hey!” I huffed.
“I can’t have you moaning, sweetness,” He said, “Because if you did then I would get turned on, and we would need to break your rule about having no s*x on the bus when other people are on it,” He added, smirking.
Me and my stupid rule! But it was one I need to stick to because I would feel awkward having s*x on the bus with the other in the same space. I don’t want to scar them for life, and I can’t precisely be quiet either.
“That rule still sticks,” I laughed, pecking his lips.
I walked away, heading towards our bunk.
“Your rule sucks,” He called after me, laughing.
I snickered to myself, climbing into the bunk. Ryker slipped in next to me.
“I will get you to break that rule before the tour is up,” He said confidently.
“Good luck with that, my love,” I laughed, kissing him.
“I don’t need good luck, beautiful,” He said.
I rolled my eyes and shook my head at him.
“We should get some sleep,” I said.
“Good idea, we have a busy couple of days before our day off,” He said, pulling me close, “And I was thinking, we should all go out for dinner and celebrate our engagement when we have our time off,” He added.
We hadn’t had a chance to celebrate yet, so the idea of doing so sounded good.
“I would like,” I smiled.
“Then that is our plan,” He said.
We shared one last goodnight kiss and the usual I love you before getting ourselves settled down again, with more luck this time hopefully. I was still smiling when I closed my eyes over. I think I would be smiling for some time to come. I have not ever felt this happy in my life. I didn’t think I would ever have what I have now.
It still all felt surreal at times. Everything has changed and moved quickly between us. I know it has. Maybe that would freak some people out, but for me, it hasn’t freaked me out at all. I think that is one of the many things that tell me that Ryker is it for me, and he is the one for me. I have not ever been one to rush into anything, and then he came along. That told me a lot. And now in a year or so I will be his wife, it all is a little crazy.
I was ready for it all!
