Chapter 23 At the next stop, they hopped off the grate and got inside the last car of the train, to Scout’s relief. “How far?” Scout asked as Geeta examined the glowing map on the train car wall. “This is our line, we ride it all the way to the end,” Geeta said. “Twenty minutes.” “That long?” Scout said. “If she’s been hurt—” “We’re getting there as fast as we can,” Geeta said. “Seeta couldn’t get there any faster.” Scout nodded glumly. Liam and Emilie both missing, maybe hurt, maybe worse. She was too fidgety to stay in her seat and got up to pace the length of the train car, such as it was.
