Dianne's story  Dianne  I woke up in the middle of the night covered in ice-cold sweat. I had my hand on my heart which beat incredibly fast, I could still feel his claws in my chest. This nightmare haunted me for weeks already and I didn't know why. I always thought that Atlas is going to be my mate. I adored him since I had common sense, and couldn't wait for my eighteenth birthday. I secretly sneaked out every dawn to see him train with the warriors. When I was a teenager I got myself a job in the Packhouse just to be around him and every nerve of mine begged for him to notice me. Finally, when I came to the age of finding my mate I rushed to Atlas because I felt the pull of the bond. However, when he was standing in front of me, my eyes laid on a guy behind him. Atlas smiled with a smirk I've never seen before and grabbed my arms saying.  - I can't believe that you are my mate. - he was so happy that I didn't want to say a word to him. I always wanted Atlas, so I'll be with him and just ignore my fated mate. Or at least this was the plan. The man behind Atlas smiled at me in a cocky way that heat up my blood and made me want him. His black eyes and black hair reminded me of the midnight and his flashing smile with that childish sparkle in his eyes were the stars. I was determined to be with Atlas instead of him, after this decision my life ended up in a neverending nightmare. Somehow I knew I was dead, my wolf was gone and my subconscious screamed the facts to me every single night. Every day was the same play of events, but I couldn't escape. I was angry and scared. I only realized what was going on by the end of the day and started the next one like nothing ever happened. I lived over and over the day when my world fall into pieces. Until today... I woke up in my bed again with the same enthusiasm in my heart as the day of my birthday. I quickly jumped out of bed and got on my best dress, I brushed my hair and put on a little makeup. When my reflection looked back at me from the mirror I was really satisfied with what I saw. I ran downstairs and gave a kiss to my mother's cheek. She said something about being less reckless but I was too nervous to see Atlas. I ran out of our house and heard how my wolf purred with joy about being an adult. She wanted to get to our mates as much as I did, but on my way to Atlas, I rushed into a woman I haven't seen before. She wasn't a wolf, her scent was different from anything I knew. She turned around and when she looked into my eyes a cold shiver ran down my spine.   - Nice to meet you, Dianne. - she said and I felt how her power lingered around her.  Noelle   Hecate stood in front of me and she looked like she has just seen a ghost. Which have been actually a quite good example, observing the fact that I was no longer a living person.   - How? - she whispered and I skipped the distance between us grabbing her by her throat.   - I told you I'll find a way to get him back. Now tell me where is him! - I ground my teeth and hissed these words but Hecate laughed.   - Wrong level Foxy! It is quite sad that you believed me so easily. You didn't even question me when I said that Atlas is here. - her words hurt my ears and sent a stinging sensation to my heart. At some point she was right, but I believed her because I knew Atlas's sins. Even if he was a good, loyal and brave man, he did terrible things in his life. I pulled Hecate closer and smelled her fear that she tried to hide from her demons.   - Then call the lift because we are going up. - I said and she laughed with a tone of victory.  - I'm afraid that is not possible. Even if I want to take you to Heaven, or I would have an intention to do that. I can't. Your soul isn't worthy for Heaven since you ended up here. You will be here for eternity paying for your sins and you can't do anything against it. - I let her go and stepped back. I gave her a warning smile and said in a low tone.  - I found a way to get here, I'll find a way to get my mate back, but before that happens... - I said and laid closer to her ear so only Hecate could hear me I whispered.  - For tricking me, I'll tear your kingdom down. So take a good look around because soon all that you built... Will be gone. She looked at me with the same glance in her eyes Tomy used to, or any of my old classmates and teachers when I said that I'm capable of doing something. She didn't believe me, but that was fine. Hecate will learn from her own mistake, and underestimating me was one of the greatest mistakes she made. I'll guarantee that. Suddenly she disappeared and I was standing all alone. Luckily none of the demons were brave enough to get into a fight with me. I walked on the empty streets listening to the screams and prayers of the lost souls until my legs took me to a certain door. I have no idea but this door called me on my name asking for help. It was closed obviously, so I concentrated on my powers and the door slowly gave in. I took a step in and the doors closes shut behind me. I looked around and a familiar view appeared in front of me with scents and faces I loved so much. I smelled his refreshing scent which made my heart jump in joy. After enjoying my mate's scent from afar I shook my head to snap myself back to "reality".   - Come on Noelle. Get yourself together. If you get lost in Hell there is absolutely no chance of getting Atlas back! - I told to myself out loud and I felt someone bumping into my back. I got alerted and turned around ready to fight. For my biggest surprise, a young she-wolf stood in front of me and I felt her surprise. When our glances met I recognized her immediately from the pictures Cody showed and the stories I'd heard about her.   -Nice to meet you, Dianne. - I said and she shivered visibly. She stumbled a step back and asked in a shaking voice.  - Who are you? How do you know my name? - I smiled and thought about a way I might explain all to her, I sighed in frustration when I realized that the most logical way is, to tell the truth.  - Take a seat. - I told her and out of fear, curiosity, or submitting my power, she did as I said. I sat in front of her and started to explain where she was, and who I was, also the reason I was there. By the time I ended my explanation Dianne's eyes filled with tears.  - So...I'm dead.- I nodded. Her face lightened up and her mouth curved to a smile.   - I am Atlas's mate...- I didn't interrupt her. In this world she was. Suddenly her smile faded and big crocodile tears started to fall from her gorgeous eyes.  - I was his mate. I don't understand why I cheated on him then. He was all I ever wanted! - she cried and even if part of me got pissed off about the way she talked about my mate, I kept calm.  - I think I can help you. - I said and she sobbed.   - Why? Why do you want to help me? - I held her hands and smiled gently.   - Because I know what you feel for him. I can't give your life back, neither I can give you Atlas back. - I said and glanced down on my belly. I might sound crazy but I had the feeling that our child was still there, safe and ready to grow. She caught my glance and her mouth formed to the shape of an O.  - Then, how could you help me? - she asked.   - I have the impression that you have been framed. My plan is to help your soul to get into Heaven. - Dianne jumped into my neck and hugged me tightly.   - I'll do whatever I have to. Just please help me. - she whispered and I nodded.   - Fine. Now keep going as usual. I'll observe you and try to find out how your life took a hundred eighty turns. - she cleaned her tears and stood up. I felt so sorry for this girl. She just started to live and her life has been taken away from her because of a sin she never committed by her own will.
