- Chapter 7 -

CHAPTER 7

~You don't gain a single thing from misery~

It’s been hours since I left the castle. I can see how beautiful it is and I was amazed. I knew it, everything looks different on the outside. The bright blue sky is clear and I can’t keep my eyes off the window. Gabriel didn’t seem to care about it. He looked really tired from staying up all night and did the talking. Few hours later and I’m thirsty. Gabriel twitched his eyebrows when I stared at him.

“I’m thirsty.” I murmured.

"Kurt had over the bottle of water to Allyha." Gabriel said while his eyes are closed. He heard me?

"Here." Kurt handed me and looked back at the road. I thanked him and drank it all up.

Traveling makes me anxious. He’s not talking to me and ever since we drove off his eyes never met mine. I understand that he’s tired but that as well makes me guilty. He stayed up all night for the marriage to be settled. He made all the preparations in one night. Before I realized it I was staring at him for so long. His eyes stopped twitching and his lips were slightly pouting. His breathing is calm. He fell asleep.

I tried to fix his hair a little when his eyes opened.

"What?" he asked. I gasped and it was really terrifying when he opened his eyes. Now he looks really annoyed. It was a dumb move to think he will fall asleep that easily.

"Oh. Nothing really." I said awkwardly. He really got some good senses.

“Come here, love." He said and I moved closer to him. A rock hit the car wheel and I yanked and almost fell but Gabriel caught me. He slowly grabbed my waist and pulled me to me. “Behave yourself please.” He said and I nodded. This is very embarrassing.

His arms wrapped around my waist and I lean closer to him. His warm body put me in comfort as I inhaled his scent, I was drugged by it again. He played with my hair and inhaled my neck. I did not protest but slowly closed my eyes and I let my dreams take over.

I woke up to the sound of the car horns. I opened my eyes and saw the red light and green lights. I saw tons of people and huge houses or should I say buildings? There are more cars and we're not moving. The light from the stores, the streetlights and the commoners, I'm totally outside. I let go of Gabriel's arms and faced the tinted window again. There are lots of humans around. Were in the city?!

"Wow..." I said and smiled. It’s already dark and the streetlights gave lights on the streets. There are busses and cars everywhere. You can see people eating near the sidewalk with finger foods and stuff that I am not familiar with.

"Don't be amazed too much." Gabriel said.

"But this is amazing." I said. No. I almost exclaimed in excitement.

My heart melted when I saw street children playing outside with dirty clothes. The city looks really lively but children should be inside their homes during this time. People around the street pay no attention to the children. The city is big and lively but the children are the only ones who are alive, I thought.

"Don't look around too much or-" the car moved and I slipped off causing me to bump and got down. My balance was lost and my reflexes worked, I closed my eyes then I slowly opened. My body expected to fall on a hard surface but it didn’t. I saw Gabriel topping over me. He was staring at me, slightly irritated about what happened. He was using his two hands to support his weight and my face between them. I looked at him straight in the face. His scarlet eyes are glowing. I immediately pushed him over and sat up straight.

"Pardon me Alpha." Kurt told us. "The traffic is heavy."

"I told you." He said and sat at the same position he was before. "Damn.." he groaned. This trip is really epic. Now that Gabriel is really irritated about my actions. He’s probably thinking of dumping me outside. Why do I feel so overwhelmed? I have to relax.

"I-I'm sorry." I said.

We haven't talked for about an hour. I’m afraid to break the ice. Maybe he's thinking that I'm irritating and he might regret asking me for a bride or thinking of sending me back home. I gaze out the window but this time more careful. I was embarrassed and don't know what to say or to react anymore.

"We have to travel around the city because there are problems on the other route." He said breaking the silence that has been clouding us.

"Problems? “I asked.

"Yes. The Iron Fist attacks and invades another territory, again. The Iron Fist is a group of rebels that do not agree with my rules. They're pushing me to my limits." He said coldly.

Gabriel has enemies? Well of course? Being a royal is really hard especially when you have to make decisions. It is impossible to move so perfectly, there has to be a catch. Rules need sacrifices, what is good for someone is not for another. One rule will not be beneficial to someone and yet it is someone’s gain. Rules are not fair. Rebels are not always bad, they have their own reason.

"You won’t act now?" I suggested.

"Patience." he said and closed his eyes again. He just informed me.

"The early bird catches the worm. Consider time as well." I said and he nodded. Seriously? He is actually considering my words. My father will leave me after talking like that. He doesn't believe me that much.

"About the wedding, it is settled in three weeks from now. I have some business to attend and so I will be outside the country. I hired a great party planner and you can suggest anything that you want. My second beta Ace, will be watching over you. You are free to go everywhere in the castle as long as you have his assistance." He said and I am confused.

“You’re not staying?" I asked.

"I will show you around after we get married alright? I won't allow Males around you because you’re still unmarked. The business doesn’t matter." He said and opened his cellphone. He’s always focused on his phone. I want to break it.

"When are you leaving?" I asked.

"Tomorrow evening at seven sharp love." He replied. My excitement decreases really quickly. I feel lonely thinking that Gabriel will be away from me for the whole week. What am I supposed to do all week?

"But that's too soon." I muttered and looked down.

"Don't worry I'll spend my time there with you. The ocean view there is great and very relaxing. And we'll be arriving soon." He patted my head and kissed my forehead. I just nod in response. The word ocean hyped me up again.

I can't wait to see his castle. I can’t wait to see the ocean. I can’t wait!

"Okay." I said and leaned closer to him. His hands held mine and it made me very happy. I am falling in love.
