“Lets celebrate.” She shouted, and the musicians started playing music. Alastair led Grace back to her seat. She expected him to ask her for a dance, but he didn’t. He left his place instead and went to Marge. He bowed at her with a smile, then her happiness was apparent while Alastair led her to the dancefloor.

Grace, watching the scene, felt like it broke her heart into pieces. Soon she forced herself to move her gaze, as she felt like she couldn’t bear the pain of seeing her mate with another one.

“Morag, could you speak to Farlan?”

“I tried, but he blocked me.”

What her wolf said just made Grace more sad. She couldn’t stop scolding herself for waiting too long. She felt like the loss was unbearable.

She just sat there trying not to watch the cheerful members, and also she tried to hide her feelings, avoiding ruining others’ good moods. When someone stepped there to ask her to dance, she just refused that kindly with a smile.

This feeling was the similar she felt that evening when they kept the brothers' farewell party before they left for the adventure, but it was much more intense. She felt so alone and deeply hurt.

The dinner came soon, and all of them sat back at their tables. Alastair sat next to her again, but this time Grace didn’t leave her gaze on him. She felt like she had nothing left, but accepting the fact she was too late.

After dinner, the celebration continued, and Alastair went back to Marge, of course. They continued dancing. Alastair didn’t miss a dance, and if another she-wolf dared to ask him for a dance, he refused. He only danced with Marge, which made Grace suspect there was more between them than simple friendship. For the thought of Alastair having feelings for the beautiful witch, she kept hearing Morag whining in her head. She envied her beloved wolf. She could cry inside her, secretly, with no one noticing.

Grace is the young and reckless daughter of Urquhart, the Silver Moon Pack’s Alpha. Because of their history, they got to live hidden, awaiting the time when they will be strong enough to reveal their existence.

She often feels alone and bored. It isn’t enough her secret friend, Saoirse, must leave her; she gets to know their Beta, the handsome Alastair is also about to leave to complete a mission.

She doesn’t know why her heart is aching to let him go, but in the last night, when she sees him dancing with the white witch who was obviously into him, her tortured heart makes her leave the celebration.

After Alastair left, she must face terrible happenings which change her life, and make her grow up quickly.

The Alpha and his Beta, Alastair’s father, die in a vampire attack. The feeling of the loss causes Alastair's mother dying as well. Grace thoughtlessly runs into the arms of a vampire too, and that makes her unable to help the she beta to stay alive to see her beloved sons once again, before she passes away.

Alastair returns early, hearing the news, which ruins all Marge's plans. The witch doesn't want to give up on him, so she makes Alastair's anger grow toward Grace so much, he even plans to fight Grace off of the Alpha position, and take the lead himself. However, when he returns, the feeling of their mate bond hits both of them instantly.

Can Alastair forgive her? Can Grace and Morag be happy again? Can an Alpha of a pack like hers accept a mate, especially if that mate is her Beta? How far a white witch dare to go for her own happiness?

Chapter 1
Dear Reader, I would like to thank you for giving my new story a chance. I hope you will like it. This story is the prequel for Aurora, the Alpha's healer actually, so if you read that book before, do not be surprised to meet some familiar characters again :) Before you read it, let me warn you this story contains some mature content as well, which could be disturbing. So, if you are still interested, then let the story begin. The history of the Silver Moon Pack It was a beautiful, sunny day. In the sunshine, the hills of the Highlands just looked more mesmerizing than usual. The sky was clear, there wasn’t a single cloud, and the warm breeze made the green grass wave. If we watched this landscape from high above, we probably would not notice that little white spot which moved out fast from a hill. You might not believe that if I said it was a young wolf. That young white wolf was clever and fast enough to escape from home, just to be out in nature for a little while. The wolf’s name was Morag, and she was not just a simple wolf. She was a werewolf. Morag just turned seventeen years old a few days ago. She and her human, Grace, often felt like they were suffocating inside the hill where they lived, hidden. Grace’s got light blonde hair, and she had green eyes. She had a slender figure, but strong enough to defend herself, and her unique power, which she had not used yet, made her special. The legend said a long time ago, other packs united to destroy her kind, as they were jealous of their unique power. Other werewolf communities couldn’t take the fact that there was a pack so special, strong, and glorious that it could rule the whole island. This pack is called the Silver Moon Pack. Even if this community harmed no one, and they never wanted to take the lead, the other packs were never at ease. They were worried that the Silver Moon Pack’s Alpha would claim the leader's role one day, and then they would lose their reputation and position. The Silver Moon Pack was famous for its healing power. Rumors said that their Alpha blood also could fight against death. The rumors said their Alpha blood’s power was strong enough to send the departed soul back into its body. The fear of that made them unite, and they made a plan of destroying them. No one knew how that actually happened, but everyone knew that the other packs betrayed the Silver Moon Pack. They tricked their warriors and attacked them without warning, not allowing them to defend themselves. There were not many survivors. Those werewolves who they left alive had been caught, and they took them into their pack, to make them their slaves, and they named them healers. But there was one thing they did not know. Even if their attack was unexpected, a few elder warriors helped their Alpha and Beta pups escape. After the fight, they went back to the battlefield, and the young werewolves, using their power, helped many pack members to heal. They intended to fight back, but they knew there were only a few of them left. Therefore, they decided to hide until they restored their strength and they could show their power was unshakable. They knew they had to hide everything that would show for the future generations they ever existed, and they knew they had to find a place where no one could find them. The fable said while they were seeking a place to live, they met a few white witches. The white witches wanted to help them, as they knew this unique pack could not disappear from the Earth. They helped them to build their castle inside a hill and they asked them to give them a home in return. This all happened about two hundred years ago, or a little more. Since then, many Alpha's tried to make the pack well-known again, but none of them succeeded. In the 16th century, they still lived hidden, and no one knew how long they would need to live inside the hill. Morag ran as fast as she could. She wanted to run up her favorite hill, where she could see the landscape, and she loved the light wind that brought crystal clean air into her lungs. Her dad, the Alpha of the pack, probably would have punished his pup if he had known that she ran free outside alone, but she could always keep it a secret. As she was the only pup of the Alpha, she had a personal guard, a Delta, called Calan. Calan was old, and he often had a nap after lunch. Grace used these occasions to run away, and she always went back before Calan woke up. Calan asked the little pup not to tell her dad about his weakness, but he did not know Grace was more than happy to hide it from the Alpha. The Alpha’s name was Urquhart Findlay, and his wolf was called Fergus. He was a good Alpha. He respected and loved his pack. His aim was to keep their legend alive, to keep their warriors strong, and ready to fight. His dream was to give his pack back its glory one time, and lead them out of hiding. He wanted his daughter to continue his plan if he couldn't finish it in his lifetime. Even if he raised Grace under strict rules, he loved his daughter more than anything. As he was too busy and obsessed with working on his plan and managing the pack, he never wanted to become vulnerable by having a mate. Grace’s mother was a beautiful Beta-wolf. Her name was Fenella. They have never been in love. When Urquhart felt it was time to have a successor, he made an agreement with her. Fenella could be the mother of his heir, but she had to agree that he would never mark her, and she would never be his Luna. Fenella knew the Alpha had duties, and in the pack’s situation as his Beta, she must help her Alpha without selfishness. Fenella was a good parent to Grace. But her fate didn’t let her watch her daughter grow up. On one of the rare occasions when she needed to go outside of the hill, she disappeared. Urquhart sent numerous warriors to find her. Sadly, they found her body in parts, which meant even the Alpha’s power wasn’t enough to bring her back. Probably, she became a victim of a vampire attack. They suspected there were more vampires who fought for food. Grace was only two years old, so she had no memories of her mother. Morag ran faster when she spotted the other pup from afar. Grace smiled inside her mind and encouraged her to increase her speed. When the other pup noticed her, she ran to her happily as well. When they met, they started playing instantly. They rolled on each other, tried to bite each other's neck. The other young wolf’s name was Joice. She was a nice black she-wolf, and her human was called Saoirse Haggan, the Alpha daughter of the Red Moon Pack. That pack wasn’t too far from here. Saoirse was the third child of their Alpha. Her dad and mother raised her under strict rules. Her guard was a Gamma, his name was Gabriel. Gabriel knew how lonely Saoirse was, and as he liked his little Alpha, he tried to make her life easier, as he also knew how much the two pups liked each other. Gabriel didn’t know where Grace came from. He thought she was just a rogue orphan. As he knew she was not harmful, he often took Saoirse out of their territory, and he let her play with her little friend. He worried the Alpha would find out and put him in the dungeon, but he prayed the Luna would forgive him for making her daughter happy for a while.. Finally, Morag leaned on Joice, finishing their playful fight. When Joice signed her, she quit. Morag let her go happily. She looked at her leg, and saw the little bag tightened on it, so she poked Joice with her nose. That meant she wanted to shift. Joice nodded and asked her Gamma to turn around. After they shifted, they both laughed loudly while they put their robes on. Saoirse was a beautiful she-wolf as well. Her long black hair was well-groomed, and her blue eyes attracted all the surrounding males. Her white skin was soft and clear and her slender figure made everyone know she belonged to a rich and prestigious family. “Saoirse, I’m sorry, but Joice is still slow.” “I know, but what could she do? I can’t let her out that often, like you do with Morag. She can’t improve if she is always inside me.” Grace looked at her friend sadly. “I know. Next time, we can fight more.” Saoirse sat down on the ground. She pulled her friend to sit next to her and hugged her, resting her head on her shoulder. “I would like more to talk to you,” she said seriously. “What is wrong, Saoirse? You sound really sad today.” Grace frowned while she looked at her friend. “I won’t be able to come for a fortnight, at least.” She sighed. Grace’s eyes widened instantly. “Why?” “My dad wants me to accompany my brothers on a route.” “Where do you go?” Grace asked curiously. “We are going to visit the Blue Blood Pack.” Grace looked at her suddenly. “You said that pack is horrible.” She nearly shouted. “Yes, their Alpha isn’t kind at all. But at least he leads his pack well,” Saoirse said quietly. “You don’t want to stay there, don’t you?” Grace asked her with fear in her voice. Saoirse laughed while she laid down on the grass. “Of course not. Who wants to stay in a pack like that?” Grace, hearing her friend laughing, calmed down as well, and she laid next to her friend, watching the sky. She didn’t know what she would do without her. She knew as soon as Saoirse turned eighteen, her dad would find her an Alpha to mate. They have got one year until then, and they promised each other they would stay in contact no matter how far they have to live. “When do you leave?” Saoirse lifted her head to look at Grace. “Tomorrow morning.” Grace only nodded. She missed her already, and she had no clue how she would survive without being able to talk to her for two weeks. “Will you meet me here when you come back?” “Of course. I’ll come out the next day, and I’ll tell you everything about the famous tyrant.” They both started laughing, but after a few moments, Saoirse got serious. Grace knew Gabriel was talking to Saoirse through mind link. “I have to go now, Grace.” Grace nodded. Saoirse stood up first and pulled her friend up, too. They hugged each other. “Take care of yourself, Saoirse, and I’ll see you after two weeks.” “Yes.” Saoirse nodded. They hated to let each other go, but they understood the rules. They both shifted back into their wolf form, and after Morag and Joice said bye to each other as well, both of them ran back home. Morag shifted as soon as they reached the hill, and Grace took her robe on before she sneaked back. These occasions were the only times when she did not mind the place being so dark, only lit by torches. After looking around nervously and making sure there was no one around, she ran toward her room to change her clothes in time. She smiled when she was sure she had sneaked back again, with no one noticing when she accidentally bumped into someone.
