CHAPTER 6 - Bad Intention

Katelyn POV

I woke up feeling dizzy. The room spins around. I can’t force myself to open my eyes. I can felt the softness of the silky duvet on my body. Wait? Suddenly I realized that I was sleeping naked. “Arghhhh!!!” I scream out loud. The door opened, and Mason came in. He wears casual clothes but still managed to look disturbingly handsome. “What’s wrong, Kate?” He asked in a worried tone. I crossed both of my hands in front of my body to cover up. “What happened last night? Did we just??” I groan in frustration. I knew I was agreeing with Lucas to made him fall for me, but not for giving him my virginity! Mason smirks then came towards me. “Don’t flatter yourself, Ms.Page. Last night you threw up, so I just put your clothes in the laundry.”  I sighed in relief. “What about Kimora?” I asked suspiciously. “Liam took her home. You don’t need to worry about her. You have to work today, and I gave you 15 min to prepare. There are new clothes for you in the bathroom.” He said while pointing to the wooden door beside me.

So, last night he chose me over Kimora? I smiled at the thought. After he left, I rushed to the bathroom. As he said, clothes are hanging at the bathroom door. I was surprised to see the beautiful dress he picked for me, which perfectly fits me. After taking a long bath, I go outside. Mason was still waiting for me, sitting at the dining table. “Kate, Let’s have breakfast together.” I saw two plates of pancakes on the table, and my stomach starts grumbling. I came towards the dining table and sat in front of him. “Are you always having breakfast by yourself?”I asked while chewing the pancakes. This pancake tastes so good! “Mostly yes, Is there a problem?” he said curtly. “Well… It’s kinda lonely to eat alone.“ I said while looking at him.

He chuckled while looking at my face, “You got something on your…” he pointed at his mouth. “What?” It must be the chocolate syrup that I poured over my pancakes. I try to wipe it away using my fingers, but it still there. Suddenly Mason’s fingers gently wiped the corner of my mouth, and his hands stopped there. His touch made my heart flutters. I must’ve been single for too long. After a while then he put his hands down. “Have you finished? Ms.Page, I didn’t pay you for doing nothing.” He snapped back to his cold, dominant behavior. I rolled back eyes then followed him from behind.

For the whole day, he wouldn’t stop ordering me around. Meeting by meeting, replying to the emails, consistent phone calls. I nearly passed out. Mason wasn’t kidding when he said this job is not easy. The phone wouldn’t stop ringing. I sighed, then picking up another call again. “Ms.Page… I hope you’re well. This is. Mr.Thompson.” I immediately stop typing when I heard his name. “Well, Mr.Thompson… How can I help you?” I tried to be as calm as I can. “ I knew we didn’t give you the best impression last time. Still, I was hoping Mr.Prince could give us another chance. Can we come to your office today? I had an interesting offer that I believe will benefit your company.” he politely offered. “Let me ask Mr.Prince first, then I’ll get back to you later, Mr.Thompson.” I hung up the phone.

I knocked on the door twice, then I heard Mason allows me to come in. “Mr.Prince, I just received a phone call from Mr.Thompson. He said that he wants to meet you today.” I saw Mason clenching his hands. “I told you before, Kate. I’m not interested.” He said sternly, “But, it was his employee’s fault. Don’t you think it was a little bit unfair for Mr.Thompson?” I argued back. Mason sighed then said, “Okay, I’ll give him 30 minutes.” He finally listens to me. I gave him my sweetest smile and called Mr.Thompson back. After a while, they finally arrived at our office, but Jeremy didn’t come along this time. I wonder maybe Mr.Thompson fired him? I accompany Mason joined the meeting. I can say the meeting went pretty well since I couldn’t understand 80% of their discussion. Mason asks many questions seemed to be interested in their proposal.

I dismissed myself first to the toilet, and when I came out, I saw Mr.Thompson calling Someone on the phone. “I just had a meeting with that basta*d.” What is he talking about? I can sense something’s not right. I hid behind the wall and kept listening, “We almost got him. I think I can make him invest in this shitty proposal. Haha!” he laughed evilly. Oh no! What did he plan to do this time? I have to tell Mason ASAP! I turned around and ready to leave when suddenly Someone drags me from behind while covering my mouth with his hands. I tried to free myself, but he was bigger than me. Luckily one of my feet can reach the trash can, and I kick it to grab other people’s attention. I saw Kevin passing by, and he saw me being dragged outside.

Mason POV

I read the contract once again because, to be honest, I’m feeling a little leery about signing up for this agreement. There’s something odd about that contract from Mr.Thompson. Suddenly Kevin burst into my room without knocking. “Mason! Kate…” he said while gasping for breath. I suddenly felt tense, “What happened?” I got up from the chair. “She… I just saw Someone’s kidnapping her!” My eyes widened in shock, I took my car key and quickly ran to the lobby. I saw a black van, just leaving Princeton. I drove my car out to the street, following the van.
