Declan’s POV I ran out of that building like my ass was on fire, sprinting across the quadrant to put as much distance as possible between me and Dakota. When I had gone looking for her, I had said to myself that I just wanted to make sure that she was OK. She hadn’t joined Daxton or Lilian for lunch for four days and Dax had finally admitted that she was hiding in the library, embarrassed about getting upset in public. I hadn’t really had a plan as I walked in the door, giving the librarian a quick wink, sue me, I am who I am. I had wandered through the shelves until I spotted her, that deep auburn hair tied back in a plait as she pulled the most depressing lunch I have ever seen out of her bag.
