Monday Nights

{James’ POV} Monday’s we’re often my most busy days, there were morning meetings, afternoon calls, and checking on all of the businesses that I ran. The restraints, bars, and night clubs. I like to check on them every day, but Monday is when they all give me the report from the past week. This afternoon had been far more hectic than any Monday in the past year. There were some issues with one of my night clubs The Playhouse, where one of the bouncers got into an altercation with one of the exotic dancers. This often happens, but this time she assaulted him, because he tried to get physical with her. The other bouncers stopped him from lashing out afterwards, but she’s still very traumatized. “I’ll pay you for your trouble, and completely understand if you want to resign and find a new work environment. I’ll pay your standard pay until you find a new job and don’t worry about coming in to work, take as much time as you need.” I said calmly talking over the phone to the poor dancer who was harassed. She deserved better, she was a mother, and a kind woman. She enjoyed dancing, and loved her clients. They loved her, and she really cared about making everyone’s nights enjoyable. “Thank you sir.” She replied. “I don’t want to leave, but I do hope he won’t be back.” “He’s already been fired Olivia, and I have banned him from the establishment and I am prepared to send him to jail, or help you get a restraining order.” I answered her truthfully. “Thank you, you’re the kindest boss anyone could ask for. I normally wouldn’t like to send anyone to jail, but I’m actually afraid of him. I’d like to press charges.” She said. “Of course, I’ll send the police over to your address to get your statement and to go pick him up. Thank you, for staying with us. We’re glad to still have you on board, and I’ll make sure this is a safe place for you.” I replied. “Thank you sir, you have a good evening.” She said sweetly. “You too, mhmm, bye bye.” I said hanging up and running my hands through my hair. This has been the longest day, and it’s just now time for the kids to get home. I’ve still got hours of work ahead of me. Truthfully the children should have been home over an hour ago. “Where are they?” I wondered to myself. About that time I heard a clatter at the door, the sound of the children talking to their nanny Mrs. O’Doyle. As they walked in I met them in the entryway. “My babies, how was school?” I said kneeling down and giving then both tight hugs. “We’re not babies anymore!” Teddy groaned and hugged me back. “We had a great time, our teacher is amazing!” Tessa said. “Probably because she knows who you are.” I muttered under my breath. “She was kind to everyone daddy!” Tessa interjected. “She even gave us a tour of the school since Mrs. O’Doyle was late.” She finished. I looked up to Mrs. O’Doyle a flash of anger rose inside of me thinking about how my children were left at school for too long. Their teacher is giving them special treatment as well, probably to get on my good side. Everyone wants to be on my good side and try to be the new heiress. I’m so tired of these entitled princesses. “Alright kids go wash up for dinner, the chefs are making your favorite, spaghetti!” I said laughing as the children ran up the stairs to their rooms. “So, this teacher.. is she going to be a problem for me.” I asked Mrs. O’Doyle. “Well sir, initially I thought she would be an issue, but after talking with her. It seems that she honestly doesn’t care who you are, she was just being a good person.” She said, sending a shock through me. Mrs. O’Doyle was always on the lookout for people willing to use me for my money, her saying this was like giving the highest form of praise. “She, um, well.” “Spit it out already.” I shouted, getting tired of hearing her carry on. “She said, as far as she’s concerned you’re just another parent who doesn’t even pick up his own children from school. She also said she didn’t need your approval for how she treats the kids in her class, and that all of the children in her class are important to her. They’re just children and they deserve the same love and respect as everyone else.” She replied to my outburst. “Doesn’t care who I am, just another parent who doesn’t pick up his kids? Doesn’t need my approval!” I yelled. “Who does she think she is?” I asked pacing the floor. “That’s it, tomorrow I’m going over there to that school and giving her a piece of my mind, who knows, she may even lose her job for picking a fight with me!” I said stomping away to my study. This woman just picked a fight that she has no hope in winning! {Winter’s POV} After hours of lesson planning I was finally done. At this point it was after midnight and I needed to be up in a few hours. I yawned as I stood up and closed my books putting them back into my school bag and walking into my bathroom. I quickly did my business and stripped down, walking back to my room I quickly put on some fresh pjs, turned off my light, locked my bedroom door, and jumped into bed. Before I knew it I was asleep, had I known what I’d face tomorrow, I may have just stayed in bed all day.
