Principal's Office
Sophia Wang led Min Liu and Yan Cai to arrive first.
Min Liu, with an imposing demeanor, walked up to Principal Zhang's desk.
"Principal Zhang, Nancy Gu hit my son; your school must give me an explanation for this."
Principal Zhang tried to soothe her: "Mrs. Cai, please calm down. I will verify this matter. If it is indeed Nancy Gu's fault, the school will certainly take appropriate action against her."
Min Liu scoffed: "Is there a need to verify? My son's face has been swollen from that little girl’s beating. No matter the reason, she is wrong for hitting someone. I heard she came from the countryside and her grades are terrible. Principal Zhang, how did such a student get into Pingcheng No. 1 High School?"
Sophia Wang quickly interjected.
"Principal Zhang, ever since Nancy Gu came to our school, she has ranked last in several exams; her presence has severely dragged down our class's average score. The students have repeatedly reported this issue to me and hope that Nancy Gu can be transferred out of Class Four."
No other class would want to take on such a hot potato as transferring her out of Class Four.
Principal Zhang felt troubled inside.
If it weren't for the large sum of money given by Tim Gu back then, he wouldn't have accepted Nancy into the school at all. After all, the educational standards in the countryside cannot compare with those of Pingcheng No. 1 High School.
He initially thought she could just muddle through until college entrance exams in three months' time but never expected her to hit someone at such a critical moment—this actually gave him a reason to expel her now.
At that moment, there was a knock on the office door.
Principal Zhang: "Come in!"
The door opened and a striking figure walked in.
Min Liu and Yan Cai immediately glared at the girl fiercely.
"Nancy Gu, did you hit Cai?" Principal Zhang coldly questioned. "Yes!"
The girl answered very straightforwardly, surprising everyone present who had expected her to argue otherwise. Principal Zhang snorted lightly: "You admit it quite readily; then let me ask you why you hit your classmate?"
Nancy Gu replied indifferently: "Because he deserved it."
If it weren't at school, she would have been even harsher. Min Liu was instantly furious and shouted sharply: "Did you hear what she said? She hit someone and still looks unrepentant!
Principal Zhang, students like this should be expelled immediately."
Just then, Mo Jiang happened to arrive at the door and overheard Nancy’s remark about “because he deserved it,” his brows furrowed as he pushed open the office door with a cold expression. "Young Master Jiang, what brings you here?"
Both Principal Zhang and Min Liu recognized him immediately. The Jiang family is one of the four prominent families in Pingcheng; whether in business or politics within this area, they must give some respect to the Jiang family. Mo Jiang not only is an only child but also exceptionally talented; he obtained his master's degree in finance from a world-renowned university by age 22 and took over most of his family's businesses by age 25. His style of doing things is decisive and carries much of his grandfather's former dominance when young. Mo Jiang stared intently at Nancy Gu with a stern face. "Nancy Gu!"
Seeing Mo Jiang appear here made the girl's bright face show a hint of mockery. She had just beaten Yan Cai when Mo Jiang arrived; news from Xena Gu travels fast indeed. "I understand everything about this incident; apologize immediately." To settle this matter peacefully, only if Nancy Gu admits fault would Yan Cai’s family refrain from making things difficult due to his face.
Nancy Gu sneered: "You came here just for me to apologize?"
"Aren't you supposed to apologize?"
"And what if I don't?" Nancy Gu retorted without reservation.
