Chapter Nine

Samantha

“Hey beautiful, how was your night? Hope you dreamed about me? I’ve headed to the office and will be back by 5 pm, so don't miss me too much. I would love to take you on a date. Ensure you're prepared before I'm back.”, the note stated. My lips curved into a smile.

I finished eating and to be sincere, the food was delicious. I headed back into my room and checked my luggage if I could find a short beautiful gown but I couldn't. I guess I didn't pack all my clothes due to the rush.

I saved some money back there where I worked for a hotel as a waitress but this secret is only known to me and Jane. Alpha and Luna must not find out about it because they provided everything I've ever wanted.

But, I want to also have a job, I don't want to depend on them all the time so, I decided to take the job.

I headed out of the house and went to a convenience store near the house. I saw a Blue knee-length gown, it had a flower at the tip and a lot of beads at the neckline. I loved it because blue was my favorite color.

I found a black high heel also, it looked perfect with the dress, I paid for it and checked out of the store.

I got back home and found two women inside the house, they looked stunning, and merely looking at them, you'll know they're wealthy and have a good fashion sense. One looked a bit old and the other, she should be my age mate.

“Who are you and what are you doing here?” Clarissa asked, sparing me a deadly glare. “She should be the new house help here”, the other lady, Kate mumbled, looking at me from head to toe.

“I-i-I’m not a house help and if you don't mind, who are you guys?” they both spared me a deadly glare and proceeded to introduce themselves.

“Well, I'm Clarissa, your boss, Adrian’s mom,” She responded gritting her teeth while she helped herself with a glass of wine.

“And This is my future daughter-in-law, Kate,” she added, walking towards me with a smirk on her face.

“Mother-in-law, we do not owe her any explanation, do we? She's just a nobody,” she muttered. “Are you the new housekeeper Adrian got? She demanded.

“I'm not the new housekeeper. Adrian brought me here yesterday,” they looked at each other and laughed. “So, what are you doing here then?” she asked.

Suddenly, the door pushed open and Adrian walked in and I couldn't help but steal glances of him. He is handsome, with dark brown eyes, a chiseled jaw, and shoulder-length black hair. He looked amazing in his tailored suit.

“Mom, she is my guest and you have no right to harass my guest for no reason,” he sputtered, he walked towards me gave me a side hug, and kissed my forehead.

“Ohh, your guest? She looks like a nobody and probably a poor gold digger,” she mumbled, gritting her teeth.

“Hey Adrian, you're back. Welcome babe,” Kate proceeded to hug Adrian but he moved away from her.

“Mom, I've told you times without a number, Always inform me whenever you're coming, what if I'm not around.”

‘I'm sorry son, I just wish to see you. And look who we have here, Kate my friend’s daughter. She looked beautiful and she's the perfect wife for you.’ Clarissa responded, Kate spun around for Adrian.

“I've told you several times, Mom. I've got nothing to do with her, I don’t f*****g love her,” he shouted at Clarissa, Kate moved closer and slapped me hard on my cheek.

“Is it because of this slut? You don't love me? Is that why I texted and even called you but no reply? She yelled at him, and Adrian moved closer to her and slapped her.

“You have no right to treat my guest that way,” get out of my house this moment. Mom, and you too. Don’t make me do things I would regret. He demanded.

I hold my cheek and I can still feel the pain from the slap. I stormed inside the bedroom and packed my luggage. As I was coming downstairs, Adrian walked towards me and mumbled while catching his breath, “Please, Samantha. Don't leave.”

“I have to go, I don't want to be the cause of the fight. Please, I will be fine. Let me go,” he tried to stop me but he couldn't. I got a cab and got out of his hold.

I don't know where I'm going, God, I'm fed up. What will I do?
