CHAPTER 3

1002 Words
Christie's POV Immediately I said that I covered my mouth with my hands. I didn't know where that came from and the temperature of the room mysteriously dropped. I didn't know what was going on. A low growl was all I heard from him as he stood up and walked towards me slowly, or I thought it was slow because everything went slowly. He looked at me from head to toe with disgust on his face. I didn't know if it was what I was wearing or that was how he looked at me curiously or maybe it was because of what I just said. If he was my mate, he should feel it too right and not look at me like I stabbed him. Without warning, he hit me very hard and I fell on my knees, at his feet and he scoffed. I could feel blood roll down from the face he just hit and tears filled my eyes due to the pain. "A weak omega can never be my mate. You dared to step in front of me and call me your mate. Just a hit, you are kneeling before me already." His chilly voice echoed in my head. "I reject you." As soon as he said that, a sharp pain went through my heart and a pain I had never felt in my entire lifetime filled my body. I felt numb and was unable to move from the position I was in. Faintly, I heard the door opening and his footsteps returning to his seat. "Take her to the dungeon and get her out of my sight this instance." His cold voice said and I could feel someone pull up my numb body and walk me out of there. I never once thought the day I met my mate would be the day he would reject me. I thought he would be my way of escaping from everyone's condemnation and disapproval but even the look on his face showed he was disgusted by just looking at me. Why did I have to say it out loud that I already realized he was my mate? Maybe I would have been made a maid instead of someone who is going to be thrown into the dungeon. I was thrown into the dungeon without hesitation and as my cold skin slammed against the floor, a groan escaped my lips. I hurriedly crawled to the closing gates with tears brimming in my eyes. "Please let me talk to His Majesty. I won't claim anything. I will serve him, please I want to speak to his majesty." I pleaded and the two men laughed at me. "Who does she think she is, a princess?" The first one laughed mockingly. "You will rot in here or else King Damien has mercy on you." The second one said nonchalantly. "And he doesn't know the word mercy. I have to admit she is hot though. It will be a shame if that hot body rots here in the dark dungeon without anyone touching it and pleasuring it." He laughed and I cringed as I crawled back, bumping into a skeleton. A loud shriek escaped my lips and they both laughed. "Get used to it princess. They are your only companions and very soon, you will go meet them and be the next person's companion." One of them said before walking away with the other, leaving me in the barely lit room, curled up in a ball with tears rolling down my cheeks. My heart tightened even more and it became really difficult for me to breathe. I tried to pit myself together but it wasn't even working. I soon fell limp and unconscious and the next time I woke up, I didn't know what time it was. The dungeon room was dark and smelly and no windows anywhere. My stomach rumbled with hunger but there was nothing for me to eat at all. The pain in my chest didn't go away and I didn't know what to do at all. "Are you okay in there?" I asked my wolf who only replied with a low and weak growl. The pain from the broken mate bond had affected me too and I knew it would affect her more than it is affecting me. "We will be fine okay? I know it." I wasn't sure if we would be okay or not but I knew at the end of the day, a miracle could just happen. I lay there trying to save my energy by not crying at all. Every passing minute was like an eternity and I didn't know how long I was there with no food and water, but I knew it was beyond the days I was used to, which was over two days. Suddenly I saw the room lit up and I forced myself up. One of the men who threw me in here was holding a rusty tray and plate. I crawled over to the gate and a smirk appeared on his lips. "How I would love for his majesty to give you to me instead of letting you die here." He said before dumping the plate before me and I didn't care if it was poisoned or not, I dug into the slimy rice and ate it as if my life depended on it and he laughed at me which I didn't care about at all. I was used to being laughed at and it didn't affect me anymore. "What are you doing there Neill?" The familiar voice of the lady who had left me said with a frown on her face. "You are asked to give her food, not laugh at her. If His Majesty knows about this, you will be the one in this room instead." He quickly bowed and stood aside as the lady walked down to me, looking at me with a pitiful look on her face. "His Majesty asked me to bring you back to your room."
