Heather had requested for a black coffee and no sugar at the coffee shop where she was a normal regular surprising the girl who had mastered her order over the years. She hoped the caffeine would do something for her system.Late nights in the office and still clocking in on time was slowly weighing down on her body unlike when she was younger and would have no problems, sometimes even working through the night and dashing home to get changed before coming back. In the parking lot she had heaved one last tired sigh before she had sluggishly left her car and slowly made her way into the building that housed her office. At her desk was Janice, her boss's secretary and she made sure to counter check what time it was as she was sure she wasn't late. It was rare that Janice ever came down especially to get employees, phones were there for a reason. Was she getting fired? As she came closer, Janice noticed her and beckoned for her to hurry up. "What's going on?" Heather asked getting worried. This situation was very much unlike Janice. "The boss want to see you. They have been waiting for you," Janice replied her hands itching to get Heather's bags ready to drag her with her. "They?" Heather couldn't help but ask. "Please let's go, your questions will be answered there," Janice replied already making her way out of Heather's office, with Heather in tow. They used the VIP lift and once they reached her boss's floor Janice just ushered her into the office before going back to her desk. Inside she was greeted by the sight of none other than her boss and Matthew "Morning," she said while putting her game face on. The two men responded as her boss gestured for her to seat. "I am not going to beat around the bush about why you are here. We have a new angle to the case that we would like you to pursue," "New evidence?" she asked not sure what her boss was getting at. "I don't know what you will call it but my son is involved some way,"Matthew replied. "You want me to tie your son to this?" she asked still unsure of what she had been asked to do. "Yes. And if you can proof beyond reasonable doubt that he was somehow involved and win the case you get to be a partner in this firm. Here is the opportunity to prove yourself. Dismissed." Her boss said and she just nodded before leaving not uttering a word. That was what she had been working towards during her whole career. She would become the youngest partner the firm had ever had but at the same time Ben was innocent from her analysis. He had invited her out tonight with the promise of answering some of her questions. Her decision she decided would depend on what she would discover. . . "Do you think she will get me the results I want," the man on the opposite side asked. "She better," the other answered. That was not the answer he wanted.
