Prelude - Sebastian, the sin of envy.
Sebastian stared at himself in the elegant glass mirror. A mere hollow shell of himself stared back, he couldn't even recognise his own reflection. His crying was both ferocious and noisy. He blinked briny tears from bloodshot eyes, his thick lashes stuck together in clumps as if he'd been swimming. The tears made wet tracks down his face and dripped from his stubbled, wobbling chin. Clear watery snot streaked from his flaring nostrils down his red mottled skin to his open quivering lips. His hands open and closed, rhythmically clenching as if there could be some violent solution to his pain if only he could find it. This was his usual routine after speaking to his mother. She was the one that usually triggered memories he always wished to keep buried inside of him. His social anxiety developed as he spoke with her in her royal chambers. Every word she spoke to him reminded him of his worst fear; the public. The reporters exploded at him from every direction. Camera's flashing in his face from dusk till dawn, they never stopped until they got a reaction out of him and when they did; they simply returned to do it again. Sebastian was always shown off to the world as a confident, carefree prince. Society had sculpted him into a completely different person than who he actually was. Nothing they said about him was true; nothing. He wasn't confident and he certainly wasn't carefree. He had lived a life of constant orders and abuse. But as he was royalty, he couldn't object and call out for help. He was the Prince of England and that meant a certain image had to be withheld. The anxiety, depression, bipolar and paranoia was disregarded by his own parents. "It's just a phase, it will pass so quit being dramatic." His own mother had said to him as tears brimmed his dark eyes, he had the courage to show his mother the raw emotion that threatened his sanity everyday and she had swept it under the carpet like old dust - not giving a single thought of care on how this would effect her only son. The nostalgia passed and Sebastian's eyes redden as his briny tears dried into his face. "I can't do this anymore." He mutters into himself, his sharp voice cracking as he spoke - he still stared at his reflection. He looked into his broken eyes. He smiled exactly how Lucifer would have as he fell from heaven. It was the same smile that he always put on, the smile that gave others a chill down their spines and raised goosebumps along their arms and necks. "Smile for the cameras." He muttered to himself before leaving his room and walking into a crowd of reporters and desperate politicians. He faked a smile, for he knew that one day he would have the privilege of giving the stars a smile. Sadly, that time was not now. - Throughout his entire childhood, Sebastian never felt the feeling of love. A cold hearted woman, an uninterested father and zero siblings resulted in an isolated and dark life. At the age of fourteen, he understood the responsibilities he would have to carry on his shoulders. At the age of sixteen, he knew that his own personal problems had to be ignored and put on hold if he wanted to be a good King one day. But now - at the age of nineteen, he wanted to run from his problems and become someone he wasn't; a person with freedom. And that was his sin.
