CH 3: Sweet trap

The other side of the world.

The girl in her early twenties was running wildly on the road at night. Five men were running behind her with rifles. Seeing the girl, it seemed that she could not run away from this. She was very tired. Still, with courage, she managed to run out of the city.

But those five men were still running after her at a high speed. They did not even fire at her because they wanted to capture her alive.

"If she gets out of hand, the boss will not leave us alive. Catch her quickly." The leader said in a frustrated tone.

"Because of her speed, we will never be able to catch her like this. Come up with some ideas." One of them said,

"There's an idea," The third guy said.

"What is?" Leader asked.

"Let's surround her from all directions at the same time. If she still doesn't get control, we'll shoot her. Only shoot at her leg." The third guy said.

All the guys nodded their heads in agreement and all four scattered in four directions while the fifth one was still running after the girl. That girl was now running to save herself from the trees in the forest. But her speed was reduced because of the trees. In no time she was surrounded.

The girl stopped in the middle of the forest. Five men stopped him by pointing rifles at him.

"Enough is enough, girl! If you run away now, you will die." The leader growled at her.

"If I was afraid of dying, I would not have brought you here." The girl said with a mocking smile.

"What do you mean?" The leader asked in confusion.

"I mean look up," said the girl pointing to the trees above.

All the men looked up at once. His eyes widened with fear. Four giant snakes with their hoods were sitting on all the trees in the middle of which those people were standing. Their size was as big as a two-floor building. They were wrapped around the trees as if they were half part of the trees. But because of their unique colour and shining eyes, they were getting recognized. The 'Hisss!' sound of their black tongue wagging from time to time made a strange sound that shivered in that quiet forest. Cold sweat runs to their spins.

"It's called a hunter caught in his own trap," The girl chuckled at them.

"It's a shifter snake. What to do now, leader?" one asked in a whisper.

"Shoot everyone. Don't let them live." The leader shouted.

As he said that all four hunters started firing at trees. But their bullet did not hit any snakes at all. The very next moment, the four snakes entangled the four men in their coils, squeezed them hard, and made them into pieces of bones. Seeing such death of his people, the leader opened fire on the girl standing in front of him.

"B*tch, you will die today! I'll kill you right now!" The leader growled angrily.

"Ah!" The bullet hit the girl's shoulder.

"You have such courage to shoot me! You will die!" The girl said angrily.

With that, the girl's half-body turned into a half-snake. She wrapped her tail around the leader and she began to squeeze him. The rifle fell from the hands of the leader's hands and his eyes rolled up. The girl's eyes have now turned green like a snake's eyes. Her tongue also started waving in the air.

"Zara! Enough for today!" A sweet voice asked the girl to stop.

The girl saw that one of the blue snakes turned into a beautiful woman. And came to her. The beautiful women looked at the leader who had now fainted close to dying. Then she looked at the girl named Zara.

"Leave him, Zara. You will kill him like this." The woman said in a calm voice.

"No Nina! Let him die. He has made me run a lot. And he has also shot me." Zara said angrily.

"But we have to gather a lot of information from him. If you kill him, how will we get our people out of their clutches?" Nina said understandingly.

"But he shot me! Me! How dare this lowly hunter think he can hurt me like this!" Zara said in anger.

"Zara, I said enough is enough. Leave him right now. And this is an order from your Queen!" Nina said in a serious tone.

Hearing this, Zara left the leader. She shifted back to her human form. Blood was still dripping from her shoulder. But she didn't care about her wounds. She just became more upset.

"Don't use that voice on me again." Zara hissed angrily and turned and went into the dense forest.

"Zara will never give up her headstrong attitude." Another yellow-colored snake shifted back to her human form and said calmly.

"This is why I am worried about her future. I am afraid that she might get herself into trouble if she keeps behaving like this." Nina said in a worried tone and sighed helplessly.

"She's a snake and a princess too. She's been training herself so perfectly, Queen Nina. Even if she gets trapped for some reason, she'll be able to free herself with her sharp mind. You're worrying unnecessarily." the girl said calmly.

"You're right, Tessa. Do one thing. Keep an eye on her until her wound heals. She is angry at me, so she won't allow me to treat her wounds. And the university she attends has a lot of wolves as well as wizard children. Keep them away from Zara if possible. I don't want anyone to know Zara's secret that she is a snake girl. Because of her pill, Zara will remain weak." Nina said to Tessa.

"As you order, Queen Nina." Tessa bowed down.

"And you, Malini, take this hunter and put him in prison. And inform the king. And keep hunters under strict watch. Take care that no one goes near him. The king and I thought about what to do next with him." Nina said to the red-haired girl who just shifted back from the grey snake.

"As you order, Queen Nina." Malini bowed to her respectively.

"Queen Nina, you must have to reach the palace. The King will be coming to see you." Said the third woman who was in the room of half-black snakes.

"Sandra, I'm leaving. But can you please clean in here? I don't want anyone to find this place because of these hunters' scents. There are many wolves also in enemy groups." Nina said and walked inside the forest.

Zara's POV

"Leave it! Don't touch me!! Leave it all to you!!" I yelled at the maid who was trying to treat my wounds.

Even now, if Nina had ordered me to stop, being my sister, I would have definitely stopped. But she used her Queen voice on me which made me very angry. Nina, now I hate that, but she still used that tone on me.

"Princess, if I don't bandage your wounds, your wounds will get infected. And Queen Nina will also be angry at me and I will be punished." The maid said nervously.

"I am a healer myself. My wound will heal on its own. I don't need medicine. Get out of here! Leave me alone" I said angrily.

"But princess." the second maid wanted to say.

These two maids are just as stubborn as my sister. My anger does not affect them. Both the maids have been appointed by my sister.

“Leave him,” Neena said as she entered Zara’s chamber.

Both the maids quickly stood up in respect. I turned my face angrily and started looking out the window. I'm not ready to face her right now.

"Greetings, Queen Nina." The maids greeted Nina together.

"I'll treat her wound. You two can leave now." Neena said with a light smile and took the medical kit from the maid.

The maid now both of them went out of the room. Nina came walking towards me.

"Zara, you don't need to be angry at the maid. She is just doing her job. You are a princess. And being a princess you should control your anger." Nina explained to me in a soft voice.

"And I hate that I'm a princess. You know I came back here just for you. To be a sister, not the princess of this kingdom." I said looking back at Nina.

"Don't say it so loudly. You know Dad will be angry at you if he hears this. And I don't want you to face Dad's anger. Let's sit and talk." Nina held my hand and made me sit on the bed. And she herself sat in front of me.

"Aren't you tired of being a puppet? First, you played Daddy's puppet and got you married to an old snake king, and that old bastard king just used you as a stepping stone to the title of king. He was only given the title of queen. You don't know but he chose his mistress Diya to be the next queen because she gave him a son. What a selfish snake he is. And do you know whose daughter Diya is?" I asked, hissing angrily.

"Yeah, I know. She's our stepmother Miya's daughter. And I know everything that's going on behind my back." Nina said, smiling softly.

"Neither does that witch Miya deserve to be our mother. And neither does her w***e daughter deserve to be a Queen. They are not even snakes like us. That mother-daughter snatched our mother from us before and now she is going on snatching your Queen title from you. Do you like this? Don't you get angry at all about this matter?" I asked her irritably.

"I don't want the Queen title. That title has no place in my life. I married the Snake King Ryder because our father wanted me to be Queen of the Snakes. He had already decided to give Bryden the title of future king. And to strengthen our political friendship with King Ryder, he married me to King Ryder. But he doesn't know that King Ryder is the biggest womanizer. He also made me a mother so that he could get a boy from me. But After Amy's birth, he completely turned his back away from me. But I have no regrets. I am happy the way I am." Neena smiled softly and said after tying a bandage on my wound.

I saw Nina some time ago. She always acts sweet and calm. Nina just took my hand lovingly. Now I know that she will definitely say something which will make my anger go away.

"Zara, I have no one in this world except you and Amy. And as long as both of you are happy, no one can hurt me. Do you know what promise we made to our mother?" Nina asks with a soft smile.

“Yes….” I said, nodding my head.

"Happiness or sadness…." Nina looked at me with a hopeful face.

"We will always stay with each other," I said in a heavy voice.

"No matter what happens, never give up." Nina gave me a sweet smile.

I saw the image of my mother in her smiling face and tears welled up even though I didn't want to. Nina came forward and hugged me and I also hugged her. Her hand started moving lovingly on my back. Just like a mother when she tried to calm me down.

"Sorry, I got angry at you," I said sadly.

"Sorry, I used the Queen voice on you. I know how angry you get. But I didn't mean to make you angry. Now leave the old things and eat something quickly. Amy is waiting for you at the dinner table. You are going back tomorrow. So Amy wants to spend time with you before you leave." Nina said, pulling me away and wiping my tears.

"Why didn't you tell me earlier? I'll just change my clothes and come back." I quickly got up and entered the bathroom.

I am going back tomorrow. There is a fun feast program at the university. And I don't want to miss that. I want to meet my friends. Don't know what he would be doing without me. I am happy thinking about going back.
