Noel
It was getting dark, so I decided to head back home. As I walked towards my house, I hoped for the Triple R to not be outside waiting for me because they were always waiting for me not to welcome me but to bully me.
I’ve had enough for the night and all I wanted was to go to my room and sleep so that the pain I felt in my chest would be gone even if it’s for a short while.
My heart shattered into a thousand pieces when I reached my house and they were there, waiting for me. They hadn’t noticed me but I did and I wished there was another way to go into my house.
"Look who's back,” Rain announced, with a wicked grin when his eyes finally met mine.
Then River whispered. "Time for some fun." Just immediately, Roman sneered. I could already tell they had been informed of my arrival and had something planned. I sighed, too tired to even react.
“So what happened? Did you find someone to do the dance with?” Rain asked, looking at me with concern but I didn’t miss the mockery behind his tone.
“Please I’m tired and I want to go into my house,” I whispered, hoping they would just let me off the hook this one time but no, they didn’t.
“We do not care about what you want.”
“Haven’t you had your fun already? I was humiliated, isn’t that enough?” I let out a sigh.
The three of them walked in sync as they came towards me making my heart pound hard and fast in my chest. Their presence was dominating and my small stature wasn’t helping.
Sometimes I wished I was a little taller, maybe I wouldn’t be this intimidated by their presence. They towered my five foot three self.
“How can we get tired? Do you realize that it’s just not possible. As long as you live close to us, we will always be your best friend,” Rain smirked and I felt the urge to slap the smirk off his face but I don’t have that much courage to do so.
“I…” Tears filled my eyes as I opened my mouth to speak. Whenever I got nervous, I would begin to shake.
Luckily for me, my mother came, saving me from the hands of the Triple R.
“Noel,” she called, walking over to us.
The boys immediately put on an act, pretending to be checking up on me.
“Good day,” their voices matched in unison as they greeted mum. In no time, they disappeared and I was grateful she arrived in time but it didn’t last.
——-
Mother was packing her bags when I got into her room.
"Are you cleaning up, mum?" I asked, staring down at the amount of bags she had packed.
She looked at me and I saw a strange look in her eyes. “Mother, is there a problem?”
“I’ll be leaving you for a while, Princess. I have something really urgent to attend to,” she replied, still folding her clothes.
How could she do this? Planning to leave without informing me before the D-day. Why does everyone I love keep treating me this way?
"Where to?" The words left my mouth slowly, as I played with the hem of my skirt. “And how long?” I added, realizing that she couldn’t carry this amount of bags for just a day or even a week.
She paused and walked to him, cupping my chin with her palms. “Baby, I really have to go and it may be for a long time but trust me, you do not have to worry because I already appointed someone to care for you.”
A tear escaped my eyes. “Who?”
“Mrs Luciana,” she briefly answered and my eyes widened. Mrs Luciana? The mother of the triplets.
“You will move over tonight to stay with them till I’m back. You don’t have to worry about a thing, I gave her enough money to see through your expenses.”
“Mother please. Can’t I come with you,” I asked with a pleading tone.
“I’m sorry, you can’t.”
With a forced smile, I nodded my head. "Okay."
Mother had never really cared about me. Today was my birthday but she hadn’t even mentioned a thing about it.
Mother smiled at me, taking me in for a hug. “Now go into your room and pack your bags,” she said after we were done hugging.
“Alright mum,” I replied with a fake smile.
Climbing the staircase to my room, I couldn’t help but think about how sad my life was. No dad, no friends, a mother who didn’t care about me and neighbours who made sure to always make me cry.
I packed the few clothes I had into my bag and headed down, only to find out that mum was gone, though she left behind a little “goodbye, I love you” later.
With a last deep breath, I headed to the house of the boys. I could be lucky enough to meet Mrs Luciana instead of them.
I rang the doorbell thrice but no one came to answer but on the fourth ring, the door pulled open and there was River standing with a surprised look.
He looked at me then back at my door.
“I’ll be staying with you guys for a few days, my mother already informed your mother about it,” I quickly blabbered out, trying to reduce the tension.
Rain’s voice came, “who is at the door?”
Before River could reply, he rushed over to us. “Wow, what a pleasant surprise!”
“She will be staying with us for now,” River said to him and Rain smiled. “This sounds good. Welcome Noel, we hope you enjoy your stay here,” the sarcasm in his statement was clear.
“What's wrong, aren't you gonna cry again?" His voice came, crashing the eye contest between River and I.
I clenched my jaw but realised it almost immediately. "No, my eyes are just heavy because I’m tired."
"Very good, you should save the tears for later because you will be having a lot of reasons to cry soon enough."
They started laughing again.
“Are you guys done? Can I go now?” I quizzed, patience running out of me.
Rain got closer to me and roughly held my shoulder. “Seems like you still have some energy within you. Maybe you want to experience a fate worse than heartbreak.”
“Enough of this already!" I thundered. "You've been treating me unfairly for as long as you’ve wanted, are you guys not bored out already?”
“Watch your tone, Omega!” River growled. “We might decide to make you regret your words. Remember you are in our territory now.”
He was right. They could possibly do anything to me and I would have nobody to rescue me. “I’m sorry,” I muttered.
“Good, you can leave now.”
Roman spoke, “let me help you with your bag.”
Hearing that from him sounded very suspicious but I nodded and he smiled at me, carrying up my bag.
We said nothing as we walked over to my room. I was curious about why he was helping me, so I broke the silence with my question.
“Why are you helping me?”
He looked at me and looked away just immediately. “Rain has stressed you a lot today and I know what it feels like. Don’t think I’m supporting you, the humanity in me tends to awake at times.”
We were still talking when a sudden strange sound took our attention. Both River and Rain stood in front of us, looking all sweaty and power driven, and just immediately, Roman also began to act weird.
“Is there a problem?” I asked, confused at the way they were behaving. Their body language was shocking to see.
"Mate!" They growled out, pulling their fangs out.
Oh no, how could this be possible. I was mated to the three boys who always tortured me.
