GRAY'S P.O.V.
"One more time, Mr. Gray. Please. Let us smooth things over coffee and..."
"My decision is final," I said, interrupting him.
He looked a little sober as he bit down on his lips, his eyes falling to the floor. I slowly turned towards the dressing room, my brows furrowed.
Why was Angeline taking so long to finish up?
I was starting to walk towards the dressing room when a new female voice came, stopping me in my tracks.
"Mr. Gray!" I turned, and a woman was standing behind me, a smile on her face.
"Who are you?" I asked, my voice low, my attention mostly drifted towards Angeline, who was, for some reason, nowhere to be found.
"My name is Lexi King. I am the interviewer who was supposed to handle the interview tonight. "
"So?"
She bit down on her lips slowly. "Can we talk? Just give me an hour. I will..."
I closed my eyes, anxiety filling me up. Something felt weird. Wrong. Out of place. I wasn't sure what.
Lexi continued to talk, but I could barely hear her. My brows furrowed as I struggled to put myself together, my mind hazy.
Suddenly, I turned towards the dressing room, my heart thumping wildly in my chest.
Angeline.
