I was panting hard, my body shaking from a combination of fright, adrenaline, and disbelief, my heart thumping hard in my chest. All I could think of was how to get to Gray.
I would have to pass by her in order to achieve that, and it would be easier for me if the door wasn't locked or if I at least had a key to the door. I cursed under my breath and turned to the door, tears weling up in my eyes.
I could remember that day when I received that bouquet. I could have taken it had it not been for Gray. I wondered if I would have even realized what happened.
I closed my eyes, trying my best to organise my thoughts. Would Gray realize that I was taking far too long to get out of the dressing room?
He always had his eye on me, so I was hoping for it. I started to test the keys, trying my hardest to find the one that would open both doors so I could think of what to do with the crazy woman standing between me and my freedom.
Like the heavens itself was against me, I heard a loud breaking sound, and suddenly, water started to pour all over me and the restroom. I wasn't exactly sure why or how, but I looked down to my feet, and water was seeping under the door.
I cursed under my breath as the keys I was trying suddenly fell to the floor, a few sticking out on the other side of the door.
I bent down to pick it up when I felt a hand gently touch mine. I froze. My heart beat picked up and then slowed, like we weren't even sure if we were scared or... curious.
"Gray is being taken care of, darling. One of us is not leaving this room."
