Gray gave a small laugh as he moved away from me, breaking the kiss. His eyes lifted to mine as he slowly seductively bit down on his lips.
I swallowed, heat coursing through my body. "I probably shouldn't be here."
He nodded. "Probably. Is there a place you would rather be?"
I shook my head slowly. "I want to be right here. I just feel like we are forgetting..." I trailed off as my eyes widened, and I turned to Gray. "Kris. Where is Kris?"
I could see the flirty smile drop from his face, and he turned sharply to the side of the bed where Kris should have been.
Weirdly enough, he wasn't there.
I immediately pushed myself out of bed and off him, then ran towards the bathroom and the closet.
"Is he there?"
I turned to Gray, fear coursing through me as I shook my head. "What do we do?"
"There is so much space we still haven't checked, Angeline. I will go downstairs."
I immediately nodded, but followed right behind him, my heart in my throat, my hands slightly trembling as I struggled to breathe. What if something had happened to him? What if...
"Angeline!" Came Gray's voice from the sitting room, right as I bent over the kitchen counter.
My heart jumped, and I ran towards the sitting room, expecting the very worst. Samantha, Sylvia, something. Someone.
Instead, Gray was standing in the sitting room, shirtless, a small smile on his face, his eyes fixed on the TV while he held Kris' hand.
I turned towards the TV, my heart still beating wildly despite the rush of relief I felt on seeing Kris, and the picture I saw immediately made my cheeks redden.
It was a picture from the other day, right when we had come out of the banquet hall, and I was on the floor with Gray kneeling in front of me. My face in his hands, our eyes closed, my hand resting on his, our rings shining in the bright light, his lips on mine.
"We have witnessed more insight into Billionaire Gray Gavin's private life within the past week than we have in the last decade, ever since the Gray group became the multi-billion dollar corporation it still is. From his extremely private wedding that had released no pictures to the public, and his girlfriend who had only been seen with him a few times, it had become exceptionally hot mews when his wife turned out to be a very different person."
I slowly turned towards Gray, and he was watching me, his eyes glazed over and so full of his soul I swear I could see it seep out through the grey colours.
I turned back to the TV, my heart pirouetting its way towards him.
"So many speculations have pointed towards some kind of infidelity, or a last-minute loveless marriage that could have brought his current wife into the picture. However, right after revealing devastating news concerning his ex, pir reporters were fortunate to capture this moment, right after the banquet hall, with Billionaire Gray Gavin's wife, Mrs. Evangeline Gray Gavin. We still know so little about her, but what we do know is that she wasn't some last-minute bride. Judging from this picture. The passion and intensity, they may as well be the hottest celebrity couple right now. Oh. To be in love. Beautiful, isn't it?"
I broke into a small smile, my head lowering to the floor, my cheeks reddening.
I turned slowly towards Gray, and he was watching me, a bright red blush on his cheeks, a smile playing on his lips.
I have never seen him blush before, and it only made my heart flutter a little more. Hell. Not a little more. A lot more.
"They are... very... detailed, huh?"
He smiled a little wider, his eyes darting across both of mine. With just the look in his eyes, I could feel the distance between us disappear, and I could feel his eyes on my skin, his lips on my body, his hands in my soul.
"We can give them more details to talk about."
I swallowed, turning away, my cheeks burning now.
"Well... you are a private person. Why do you..."
"Some things are worth showing off," he said slowly, but turned away, his eyes looking down to Kris. "Right?"
Kris nodded, but I doubt he knew exactly what we were talking about. I watched him pick Kris up, and he slowly covered the distance to me, his eyes intense and tender.
He brought his hand to slowly caress the edge of my hair and my face, his eyes darting across both of mine.
"Some people are worth showing off," he said, this time in a small whisper, his smile sincere and beautiful, his eyes filled with light, his cheeks a little rosy.
Even as he walked away, I could see that image in the back of my eyes, and I knew itnq8ild forever he engrained in my memory.
