Pain

I slowly broke the kiss, my lips parted against Gray's, my body dripping with water, my heart beating wildly in my chest, my fingers slowly cupping Gray's cheek. He was just as wet as I was, the droplets running over his tanned body. His eyes opened, and he slowly met mine. My back was still on the wall, my legs wrapped around his waist. "Gray..." I started to say, but slowly trailed off, my eyes darting across both of his. He sighed, then slowly pulled his body away, gently cupping my back. He let me go so I could stand on my weak feet, my hair falling in wet strands on my shoulders, my eyes looking up to him. "I am sorry," he said slowly, his eyes averting mine, his hands still. "But I needed that and..." "I needed it too, Gray," I said, stepping closer. "If you don't come to me, who do you intend to go to?" "Someone I wouldn't end up hurting." I bit down on my lips. "You are not even going to give me a chance to see if the pain would be worth it?" He covered the distance again, his fingers running over my lips. "No pain is ever worth it, Angeline." I could tell he was speaking from experience. From a pain he had felt once. "Let's see," I whispered back, hoping it would be enough for him to know just how much I wanted more magical moments like these with him.
