I feel warm and comfortable, something I don’t remember feeling for a long time. This isn’t Iniko. He keeps me warm, but this is much warmer. And the smell all around me is delicious, making my mouth water. What is that scent? I feel like I’ve smelled it before.
I move my cheek, instantly feeling the cool air around me brushing against the warmth of my face. I run my nose over the floor that I’m sleeping on. It smells SO good. I have a nearly insatiable urge to lick it. And that, more than anything, has me jolting awake.
When I do, I lift up, and see Ancalagon’s glimmering eyes, smiling down at me.
“Sleep well?” he asks, and I can hear the mirth in his voice. Please tell me I didn't lick him in my sleep!
I scramble to get off of him. I can’t believe I thought he smelled good!
