CHAPTER NINE After breakfast, Madeleine left Enrique in the dining room to spend time alone with his family. He’d wanted her to stay, but she needed a break. Not from him. Enrique had been nothing but sweet and attentive, including giving her a daisy when he joined them at the table. But the love flowing between Jules and Alejandro was palpable, reminding Madeleine of her and Louie. Seeing it—them—hurt. Because she missed that. Missed him.
