Lyka POV
Silver explained to me that I'd have a session with her every day for an hour secretly until I regained my voice or the true Hazel showed up.
That's nice, really but I don't see how I'll be able to tell the therapist my problems.
"You'll have a session with her this morning, I'll leave you two to it." Silver left me alone in the room and I just stared at her awkwardly, not sure what I was supposed to be doing.
"It's okay, Lyka, can I call you that?" I nodded and she continued, "It's okay, feel at ease I'm not here to judge you or tell you what to do. Have a seat." She pointed to one of the seats in front of her desk and I did as instructed. "I'm here to help and I promise to give you the best of my service and also be your friend." She smiles sweetly at me, showing off her pearl-white teeth.
She's a skinny woman dressed professionally in a dark brown fitted skirt and white long sleeves. Her blonde hair is up in a ponytail and her chestnut brown eyes never left mine.
"How long have you not been able to speak?" She asks and I mentally calculate before showing her all my fingers then three. "Woah. That's a lot." She chuckles, "But it's okay, there are people who've never spoken before." She jots some things down on the note in front of her.
I tapped the desk to get her attention then gestured for her to give me a pen and paper. She handed me a tablet instead and I typed in my thoughts.
Those who've never spoken before and I are different as they can't miss what they've never heard.
I really missed the sound of my voice, my memory of it was stuck when I was seven years old. My voice never matured.
A pitiful look appeared in her eyes and I immediately regretted why I wrote that.
"I'm sorry, I should have never said that." She apologizes.
No, I should not have made you pity me.
"I don't pity you. I'm mad at myself for comparing your suffering. Very unprofessional." She chuckled and I gave her a small smile.
She seems nice and friendly and I try to bring my guard down during the session.
Lynn asked me about my life at my previous pack and I told her everything I remembered. I told her how my life was great at first but suddenly, everyone turned against me and I was turned into a slave. I expressed how difficult it was for me since I was a princess and didn't know how to work. Nobody cared to show me how it's done and expected me to do it well. I soon the hang off things because of my impeccable memory but everyone still found faults in the things I did.
"I can't imagine how hard it must have been for you, darling." She sympathized with me and I found myself crying as I was typing more for her.
She didn't just ask about me, she talked about her life and some difficult things she went through. It was more of a conversation than a therapy session for me. It's been four whole years since I've talked with someone like this and shared my feelings.
The session lasted for three hours, after that, I sneaked some food to her and we ate together. I was a little sad when she had to leave but consoled myself with the thoughts of seeing her again tomorrow.
SILVER POV
"So Silver," my father spoke up once I was seated in front of him. We were out in the garden again. These days, he always comes here, signs of old age and death getting closer. "You think you have me fooled."
I rolled my eyes and rest back, "I didn't fool you, she's my mate, father." I groaned. He always thinks the worst of me and I couldn't blame him because I always give him a reason to. "I looked into her eyes, those…" My mind wandered off to the moment we first met. It was awful, she smelled of rotten eggs and I was revolted but I didn't care about all those when I looked into her eyes, those forest green eyes that had me lost in them for a moment. I felt something I'd never felt before, some sort of electricity, and my heart started racing. It was strange and I didn't know what it was but all my questions were answered when my wolf growled and said, "Mate."
"When I looked into her eyes, I felt some weird emotions and then my wolf said mate, then and there, I knew she was my mate. That's how we find our mate, isn't it?"
"I believe you, that she's your mate, Silver. I felt the connection between you two so I know she's your mate, son but…" He paused and I was not known to be patient.
"But what, father? What problem do you have when you already know she's my mate?" I yelled at him, letting my anger get the best of me. I hate explaining myself.
"But I know that marriage, it's not real. You have something else planned. I want you to start a family, not marry. There's a difference. You need to learn something important, Silver and until you do, you're not getting on that throne."
He stood up and walked to the protector in the pavilion and stared at the beautiful flowers in the garden, "You know, your mother loved this garden so she took care of it herself. I always thought she was wasting her time but staring at them years later after her death, I feel a little at peace just by looking at them."
"No doubt, I miss your mother and I'll soon join her. You better learn that lesson fast." With that, he left me in the pavilion.
