After I hang up from Becca, I think over what she has said. There has to be something special about this girl that no one else knows. He's got somebody thinking that he is his son. He is willing to make him the next alpha and has promised him the betas daughter. Either this Jaren has something good on him or this girl has something special going that could set his pack for life. That's not to mention the vampires want her.
